Chinese 6th Generation Aircraft News & Discussions

It will cost too much. Ngad is reportedly cost 300 mil per plane I don't see tempest to be any cheaper. Better for them to go for su-57 and work on amca but knowing HAl incompetency first prototype will not be in the sky anytime soon

They can afford it over 2 decades and with 1000 orders the cost per plane will go down a lot than the few hundred NGADs USA will likely build. Remember they will have a “spear” NGAD and make a more cheaper and numerous “workhorse” aircraft.

SU-57 will be a lot inferior.

Better than wasting money on crap Rafales.

They may change their mind now after what they see coming out of China.

This is by far the best fighter aircraft/systems they can get their hands on.
BAE Systems senior exec too indicated in the direction that “India will be useful partner in software & low cost mfg”.india would end up being just the low cost mfg hub while they develop all the IP. That means no access to 6g engine tech lol

True but either Rafale F4 against Chinese J-36/J-50 or Tempest.

Don’t think they have much of a choice.

Alleged H-20 stealth bomber shown on Chinese social media

Large flying wing-shaped aircraft appears in video flying alongside a J-16 fighter jet in footage whose authenticity has yet to be confirmed

A video posted on Chinese social media reveals yet another military aircraft undergoing test flights in what could be the long-awaited Xian H-20 stealth bomber.

The 16-second recording follows the flight of the flying wing-shaped aircraft, but with a pronounced tail with inclined vertical fins.

The aircraft is of large dimensions, which can be estimated because a J-16 fighter jet was following the flight closely. Its length would be approximately 37 meters (121 feet) in a rough comparison.

At the time of publication of this article, it was not possible to say whether the video is real or fake. It shows the same recording pattern as other advanced Chinese aircraft that appeared late last year.

Daylight flights and the sharing of videos and photos on social media in China are only intentional by the Chinese government, as part of a strategy to promote its air power.

But while the Chengdu “J-36” three-engine fighter-bomber and the Shenyang “J-50” fighter were surprise appearances, the H-20 has been mentioned by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) for many years.

Long-range strategic bomber

Illustrations of the aircraft have been published with some regularity and announcements of its presentation have circulated in the Chinese media, but without the H-20 being revealed.

However, a post from the China Flight Test Establishment on Wechat stated that a “test of a new aircraft” would take place on January 1, 2025, without any details being revealed.

The H-20 is considered a long-range strategic bomber, an aircraft capable of carrying large missiles and flying for several hours, as do the US Air Force’s B-2 Spirit stealth jets.

Unlike fighter jets, which may still be in the early stages of development, the flying wing has been in development for a long time and poses a broader global threat.

Even if the video turns out to be fake, the PLAAF is certainly well into the development of its first indigenous bomber.

Fake, Were they even developing the H-20 still?
It's been taking so long compared to every other aircraft projects in China. Smoke is coming out of the wing 😂

Considering how fast China is advancing in this technology, and that the SAC design is suppose to be one of multiple similar designs, including collaborative combat aircrafts / Loyal Wingmen, if a WS-19 power loyal wingman design could be built, a manned version could make a very attractive light fighter design. Perhaps the PFX ;)

The maximum take-off weight of these three is expected to be 35 tons, over 40 tons, and over 55 tons, respectively. Among them, the "Chengdu 6th generation" is equipped with the Eagle Strike-21 hypersonic missile previously mounted on the H-6K, which should be no problem, while the "Shenyang 6th generation" may only be able to build in a smaller YJ-21E hypersonic missile..

Shenyang Aircraft Corporation has defined 6 generations of medium-sized aircraft, and Chengdu Aircraft Corporation has defined 6 generations of heavy-duty aircraft.china nuclear aircraft carrier must be 120,000 tons To accommodate 6th generation fighters. It just makes perfect sense!

I was just thinking how they were gonna fit such a large fighter on a carrier, but if the carrier itself is much larger with larger elevators, it’s totally possible, considering the E-2 and A-5 Vigilante on US carriers, the US was able to put these large planes on carriers in the 60s, even on Forrestal class carriers, a comparable size to the Type 003 carrier.

But as the following video shows, carrier landing, handling and takeoffs for such a large aircraft re going to be challenging.

The UK invited India to join the former Tempest programme before Japan joined and it became GCAP.

It is highly likely that India will join to get access to the best they can get their hands on.

Another 200-250 planes will really help lessen the burden of R&D.

There was some talk but NO formal invitation and since the contracts are signed, the chances for India to join are IMO just ZERO!

Congrats to China for the 6th gen. Since Japs, Brits and the other Europeans are also developing 6th gen, it's also good to One-Up them by developing concepts for 7th gen and 8th gen too, which would undoubtedly reach nearly pre-Warp Era threshold Star Trek levels for planetary flight combat in engine design and flight capability (Note I said planetary flight combat and not interplanetary yet, which would probably be 9th or 10th gen fighter tech for that...)

Which generation (manned) will have the technology to conduct missions in atmosphere as well as space ? Like real space, not near space.

This is the correct way to discuss

Do you have evidence to prove your viewpoint? Otherwise, keep quiet
whatever specs that is circulating online is pure nonsense, whoever giveaway the jet's real RCS figure is heading to jail, common sense, plus this 3-4 mach bs...

that is why it is "nonsense" to say other's point is nonsense without analysis
