American man reveals Indian CEO took over a firm, booted out founders, hired Indians. Post goes viral amid H1B visa debate

@r3alist

I am not disputing the grievances of American nationalists. I am just saying that they are fighting a losing battle.

Regards
Well this is the open question, it took a long time to get here

Team blue Vs team red for American tech jobs
Indians cannot even think to put them into the shoes of Americans but just the benefits to them.

There really is no gain to Americans by mass importation of Indians that drive down available jobs, wages and conditions.

It does not matter what the rich want as they cannot over-ride the life chances of the middle-class Americans. Without giving the masses enough of a stake in society, the elites will not be in power much longer.

Indians have had a great run, the door was open and they opened it some more to a comfortable first world existence in arguably the most significant industry right now, not that any Indian is saying this on here ...

But someone's gain is often someone's loss...

In this episode, Matt and Doug delve into the complexities of the H1B visa debate and its broader implications on immigration policies with their guest Jayant Bhandari. They explore the recent backlash against Indian immigrants in the tech sector, the role of meritocracy in politics, and how different cultures impact societal structures. Jayant offers candid insights on the Indian caste system, the immigration patterns in Canada and the U.S., and the future of Western civilization amidst these changes. He also shares experiences from his Capitalism and Morality seminar in Vancouver. This thought-provoking discussion highlights the intersection of culture, politics, and economics in today's globalized world.

I think increased boss, but tbh this topic is indeed boring me, I cannot keep up with the mental gymnastics and as mentioned please have this discussion with Kevin for a better answer, not via here because Americans have the actual skin in the game

My counter point to you is Kevin worked in it, not tech, alot has changed.
See the tweet

Finally as ai and automation takes hold why do you need even more people, eventually opportunities in theory will contract but we know the h1b people will stay or try to, this is the mags argument

But then I am getting bored of disingenuous responses

Btw yes I think the data is wrong, there may be a few in the top 500, but where then do you justify the very best

If american right only had brains....

Thing is, top Indian universities are not really into teaching all kinds of subjects. They only teach engineering and CS. They donot for instance teach music and arts or gender studies.

The problem is not top talent, they could come in on merit on other visas, for exceptional talent.

It’s the lower skilled engineers or coders that are costing companies; penny wise dollar stupid. Boeing is paying for this approach, and the H1B debate is only bringing this issue back up.

Top talent won’t work for low pay, so the talent you do attract maybe the “copy-paste” kind.

Indians with another gem.

China biggest beneficiary of Indophobic visa flap

After Hinduphobia we can now add another one to dictionary: Indophobia

The reason behind Boeing failures were its reliance on single angle of attack sensor and removal of MCAS override. They went as far as removal of MCAS from manuals. This was a design failure of Boeing and has nothing to do with subcontracted work. These kind of design work can never be outsourced out of the company because literally no one has any idea about how to design such things outside of Boeing.

Boeing was not saving money, it was just arrogantly pushing a bad design and bad choices. It has more in common to NASA's failures in their O-Rings. The culture of management arrogance.

That being said, what I find most amusing is that Pakistani claim all this "penny wise dollar stupid" stands totally in face of massive progress in software and services that US has seen since 1980s together with massive increase in H1Bs and massive increase in software offshore development.

If things were this bad, American software industry would have lost to Japanese or Koreans or Europeans. It never happened!

One can be forgiven to misinterpret correlation as causation. Here inverse correlation is being confused with causation. LOL! Weird to say the least.

Jealousy indeed makes people act really messed up.

PS : Nadella did not graduate from a very famous or high ranked university in India. And yes, he used H1B as well. Actually he gave up his green card and switched to H1B.

I do thank him. In 2007-2014 I got about 50,000 US dollars of Microsoft shares when I was employed with MS. I left them after that. I could not be happier he took over. During Baldmer's regime Microsoft was an absolute horror to work in. He was less of a CEO more of a Gorilla.

The problem is not top talent, they could come in on merit on other visas, for exceptional talent.
Nadella could have never qualified for any of those visas. O-1 visa specifically tries to get people with publications etc. Not everone has those. Even great engineers and leaders do not have them because it does not always aligns with career ladder.

Yea they got no brains

Ok
Indeed they dont. They are as stupid as they come.

The Indian programmers may have been good at other software development work, but as the commentator in the video points out, they were not fully qualified to do code for an aerospace company. India demanded an Indian company be given the work as part of an offset requirement and Boeing obliged. The HCL workers had rows of desks, presumably at the next table over from the Boeing people, and the HCL workers were there to develop and test software, specifically the display software. From 2:05 onwards in the video in my last post.

There is an interesting article on how, yes it was a systemic failure on the part of Boeing. But a contributing factor may have been pressure on the Indian engineers, making the display software for the pilots, to not put anything majorly different, even though there was data the pilots needed to see. The engineers were probably my reluctant to ask questions beyond a certain point, about how the software interfaces with the AoA sensor, especially after their code had to be re-written multiple times.

Boeing engineers (in house engineers) would probably have asked more questions, besides the fact that they would have been more experienced with the airplane and its software, as you pointed out. As we have seen from Boeing whistleblowers, there is a lot of cover ups, so these visa dependent H1B workers would be even more reluctant to speak up, and that is how the workers indirectly incriminated to the problem with the MAX.

Sure Boeing put pressure to minimize mention of MCAS to Pilots, but listen to what the talk about the cockpit update and the lack of debate:

14:26-16:22

Indian and other desi software engineers, over the past decades have built up a decent enough reputation, but this has deteriorated with how the H1B program has been run, undercutting American engineers through underhanded techniques, for under market rate pay, like Scabs, and that is not something to be envious about.

Furthermore, the way local Americans have been shut out of jobs by these ever worse methods puts downward pressure on Americans to go to school to get the requisite education. It’s a chicken and egg issue. If Americans know they won’t get the jobs anyway, why would they get the education. The chickens have come home to roost for the way the American system has been scammed, once again not something to be envious about.

Btw, the racial hatred (and possible job discrimination) due to this won’t be limited to just Indians, but anyone that looks similar. Just like Indians, especially Sikhs, faced harassment after 9/11. Those of us in the American Desi community have spent decades building up our good name as a by the rules kind of people. This hurts the image of all of us.

Thing is, you can NEVER EVER truely blend in with these people. Trying to appease white europeans and adapting to become like them just shows white europeans how racially insecure, weak and inferior you are. It then further perpetuates white supremacy.

It all depends what you mean by appease.

And it would be wrong to suggest only Europeans hate Muslims.

I would say Chinese, Japanese, Koreans and South Americans are even more hostile to the stereotypical (the kind I see described here by PDF Muslims) Muslims.

When you are verbally abused at Manchester airport, what should you do?

Physically lash out or make a verbal complaint?

I was horrified to see the Muslim prison population in the U.K. it is approaching US level of incarceration for African Americans.

At that level, kids grow up without a father - we know how that ends! It’s a vicious cycle that only has one outcome! Ask the blacks in America.

Trying to physically confront the whites in their own country is utter stupidly - only has one outcome! MASS INCARCERATION!

So if racists rampage towards you and hit you, you should not fight back and protect yourself and your community? You should just take the beats? mahatmati Gandhi would agree.

As of March 2024, ALL asian groups make up 8% of the UK prison population. Black americans make up 38.9% of the american prison population:

So on what basis were you "horrified" to see that the uk "Muslim" prison population was approaching the level of black incarceration in america when that conjecture is clearly wrong?

Firstly, am not a fan of Gandhi. He was a hypocrite! So, let’s not go there!

If someone is physically attacking you - you have every right to defend yourself. Even British courts will be on your side.

But should you proactively physically confront a bunch of racists? My answer is, no!

My other advice to minorities is not to live in racial ghettos.

That’s what the whites want!

There was a research done few years ago on how often streets are cleaned and grass and shrubs are pruned.

Ethnic minority areas were bottom of the list.

In many ways I agree with you but you can't force different races to live together if they don't want to. In white residential areas, they try their very best not to have any ethnic minorities living there. Particularly the shires. When ethnic minorities start moving in to white areas, the whites move out. This phenomenon is known as "white flight".

Back in the 1980/90s I grew up and went to school in an area of London that was virtually all white and black. I hated it. Racism and violence were rife. It was a nasty time. I now live in an area of the uk that is over 70% Pakistani and I absolutely love it. Living with your own people/race is wonderful. You feel connected and a part of something that is much bigger than yourself. I believe everyone should have that feeling.

Personally, I would hate to live in an area where I am a minority like I did during my childhood and teenage years. I find certain races of people EXTREMELY difficult to get on with let alone connect with.

Dude! I live in Surrey! Plenty of Muslims here. But no one says Surrey is a Muslim ghetto lol And whites haven’t left lol

Recently, Indians have started moving here - they have London accents and stick out like sore thumb lol

Anyway, I digress!

There’s plenty of shire counties for us to conquer!

Middle class whites actually like “moderate Muslims” - perceived as free of vices.
