This pertains to a SAM system, but could this be the new advanced Azaraksh that was discussed previously as the future SRAAM for IRIAF? @Piet @Emirzad

Greetings.

The original Fatter - 'Creator’ - WVR AAM has been around for some time now.

It was based on Raytheon’s AIM-9 J/P Sidewinder, but was reportedly slightly larger and heavier, than its Sidewinder forebears.

The subsequent Azarakhsh (Thunderbolt) followed the plan layout of Fatter. It is a progressive round able to function in A-A, SAM, and light anti-armor A-S roles.

Azarakhsh (-2?), has been shown with 4 separate actuators for 4 canards. Roll axis control is like that of the AIM-9X Sidewinder. Pitch, yaw, and roll axis are steered in a combined way. This is a summary of a post, I could not remember who the poster was, but I do think that it was Patarames. If not, correction would be appreciated.

Patarames again, posting a few days ago that the ... Azarakhsh SAM aerodynamic layout was optimized in the production variant: Departing from the old AIM-9P configuration as the whole steering & stabilization system was changed An: -Off-boresight gimballed IIR seeker - Smokeless motor - Two-way data-link LOAL - Radial laser proximity-fuse Equipped short-range/low-cost SAM/AAM... .

Just looking at these latest images of Azarakhsh, its wings and fins stand out - being of a different shape to those of a legacy Azarakhsh.

So yes, barring further analysis and description, I will say that there exists a solid chance that this latest missile indeed is the 'new advanced Azaraksh'.

Unfortunately, nothing is ever straightforward when it comes to Iranian weapons revelations.

In August 2022 the s.c. ‘Tactical Sayyad’ VL ADS was unveiled. Since renamed Shahid Arman.

What garnered attention as well, was an Sidewinder-9X look-alike unveiled at the same time. Ostensibly to act in an AD role for Shahid Arman. It was speculated that four of these missiles would act in defense of the mother system. Perhaps even 4 in a launch tube in lieu of an Sayyad-3F missile. This does not sound quite right considering that the mother system only has 3 launch tubes per TEL to begin with.

Nothing more had emerged about this -9X 'lookalike' since. Which brings with it its own frustrations when trying to differentiate between Fatter; Azarakhsh-2 & now this latest advanced Azarakhsh.

In any case, the Azarakhsh Low Level mobile, stand-alone, ADS has since emerged, putting paid to speculation that such missiles could be fitted in one of Shahid Arman's existing launch tubes.

GPS guidance is useless in electronic warfare environment.

Go back to playing War Thunder. Your ideas come from world of video games. You keep repeating same debunked theories.
you yourself said gps guidance have you forget it ?

You signed strategic partnership with Russia officially any details about how and in which frame it could affect your air force?
