DeepSeek, China's AI model: News & Discussion

Dont be naive. Israel is committing genocide, straight up. They have stopped food, water and medical supplies, shot children in the heads with sniper rounds, drove tanks over dead bodies, flattened housing complexes with people still in them, starved people to death, occupied territory of the Palestinians, Jordanians, and Syrians. All these are textbook definition of genocide and all these events are reported by international media yet you are happy with a ‘neutral’ response. Shame on you. If it were not censored, it should have mentioned the overwhelmingly one sided death toll of the supposed ‘war’, dead children, lies told, and exposed, by the Israeli government, using fake news of dead beheaded babies as an excuse to start this genocide and more. All these are cold hard accepted truths worldwide.
Well, if you have to say that, then that only mean you are not neutral.

Because one would say it's up to the law, are you a judge or lawyer? Is ChatGPT a judge or lawyer? Cause I ain't, you can say whatever you want, but at the end of the day, I don't go out of my way and comment on something I do not process professional knowledge on.

So unless you are a better panel than the entire 34 panel of judge with ICJ, I would defer the "Decision" to them. But if you don't think that's neutral, than well, I guess we are all biased then

The consultancy types will need to position themselves somehow, ai based qa I think will be an attempt, watch below

the first guys use case was hilarious ......use ai in the hiring process 😐😐

The next lady effectively admitted India does not have the higher institutions to produce its own competitor ai model, tbh I am sure it does

Based on my many years of experience with Indians, and South Asians in general, the cryptonite is rote learning.

They prefer group thinking and abhor critical thinking.

@UKBengali @r3alist

This guy is talking bollocks! Lol

We do more challenging stuff in a Hackathon.

Hasn’t got a clue!

CV sifting using AI LOL

No talk about the architecture of AI and how to build an LLM lol lol

This is a topic about China and AI.

Why do you keep bringing India in every post to turn this into a troll fest?

Bringing up deepseek as being especially politically biased towards CCP was the trolling.

If there were an Indian ai model, it too would have its biases

That's why sovereign ai models are discussed

Ultimately amongst ai models most potent uses are technical, scientific etc.... So who cares what it's bias is or isn't on certain events?

Okay if Israel is not guilty, then why did the ICJ issue arrest warrants for Bibi and his goons?

Instead of asking DeepSeek to optimise a piece of code - like the first thing I did - Sangis ask it about Tiananmen Square?

How bitchy and loser are they?

Not to actually become guilty of diverting the question of sovereign ai models is actively being considered and I think that's probably a concern for India and others

So every sovereign model will reflect what it wants on certain issues, chatgpt being the first to be political

However that's largely irrelevant now for most people. people who have technical uses and benefits are effusive and grateful about an open source cheap model

This is a great segment in summarising the difference in outlook between someone who wants to be a downer on deepseek versus tech people who just don't care about tiananmen square

Bro
Ask yourself is ChatGpt going to tell you about all the fukc ups by the US? Are they going to give an objective response on Gaza for example?
Which nation has no skeletons in their cupboard?
Look at the difference in finance - one cost 6 million and the other cost billions. Enough said

At least ChatGPT gives an answer about Gaza...while DeepSeek played the "safe" it "wasn't aware of anything" game

Meanwhile ChatGPT...

first you keep dwelling on the censorship nonsense like some Indian posters then you go to bed wondering why people here keep calling you out to be an Indian... see the hypocrisy here?

No, I was posting DeepSeek answers for the Pakistani member's questions here in this thread because the lazy Chinese PDF members (like you) have yet to figure out how to use DeepSeek...but they certainly know how to talk about it.

China’s AI startup DeepSeek has emerged as the most downloaded app on Apple iOS in India across all categories, surpassing global competitors such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini, according to data from Sensor Tower.

DeepSeek AI Assistant, launched last week, was ranked 102nd on January 25. However, by January 27, it had secured the top position and maintained its lead on January 28, well ahead of ChatGPT at 8th place and Google Gemini at 13th.

DeepSeek was released globally on January 10, with an update on January 27. It was funded by entrepreneur Liang Wenfeng, who established a hedge fund in 2015 that utilised machine learning for market predictions.

In the productivity app category on Apple iOS, DeepSeek saw a rise from 132nd place on January 18 to 9th on January 25, before reaching the top position on January 27, overtaking ChatGPT.

On the Play Store, DeepSeek ranked 447th in the productivity category on January 16, with ChatGPT at 2nd and Google Gemini at 14th. By January 26, DeepSeek had climbed to 46th place and reached 15th on January 28, just one rank below Gemini.

In the overall app ranking on Android, DeepSeek stood at 193rd on January 28, closing in on Google Gemini at 182nd, while ChatGPT remained significantly ahead at 47th.

In the United States, DeepSeek became the second most downloaded app across all categories on the App Store on January 28, rising from 133rd place on January 24.

ChatGPT ranked 11th, while Gemini was at 57th. DeepSeek also reached the top position in the UK, Australia, Singapore, and Canada on January 28. However, it has not achieved a similar level of dominance in most European countries.

Lol, they did kick out Huawei, Chinese 5G and nuke reactor tech from their country, they can certainly do it again in the future if China tries to invest tech there.

Maybe you should act like a contributing forum member instead of the old guy in the stands with the shaking cane that just heckles people on the playing field.

Have you ever thought about that?

Have you ever created one thread here on PDF?
But are you a heckler replier...yep!
