I think this is Khordad 15 with Joshan radar (passive). the system is not called Joshan, just the radar is Joshan

Thanks for the clarification, i sometimes find it a bit difficult to keep track of designations since systems, missiles, radars etc. have different names. But hey, at least the enemy is probably just as confused!

Have you noticed the thickness for this kind of radar, it is the first radar from Iran that I see like this

I think It is not correct. Seems the post in X are talking about a PESA radar, but not a passive radar. A passive radar is much more simple. Just round antennas that covers 360 degrees able to receive all radio signals and processing the signals to guess is something is approaching. But that Joshan seems to have TX/RX modules inside so if it contains such emitters, it is not a passive radar.

every source talks about passive radar

It is really special for a passive radar, it is clearly a super powerful next generation passive radar in my opinion

Some here have hinted at FPV/ quadcopters flying in to attack these essentially big trucks with clunky masts and huge antennae which would suffer fukk all damage as they're just hunks of steel. Only if the FPV finds the control/ crew module/ missile launcher vehicles will there be damage from itty bitty 5kg charges.

The other more important question is, where are these FPV's flying in from? Considering their itty bitty range.

FPVs been used by infiltrators, foreign agents and local collaborators could cause a real threat to iranian air defence arsenal. Does any counter measure have been take place?

S300 launcher has 4 missile its the battalion that have up to 48 missile and 3rd of khordad can operate separately it usually work in a battalion

That 36 ready to laugh missile per battalion.

Show me a battalion of 3rd of Khordad.

A battalion of S-300 exists, while proof of a spare movable 3rd of Khordad battalion is a poster.

Bavar-373 and S-300 joint operation. Did the Bavar always had the mast radar a la S-300VM, or there are two different versions again a la S-300/S-300V?

Multiple versions. The intial version was very high grade (S-400 like), but was expensive for mass production and operating. Then another version was built and finally this version which is the most cost effective.

I believe there is at least 4 versions of Bavar-373

1. Original prototype (high end design)
2. 2nd attempt at Original prototype design (slightly less high end)
3. S-300VM like design (current leading design)
4. ABM design (likely a combination of 1+2)

Now what designs eventually become the “staple” of Iranian Air defense network is still up for debate. I believe the S-300VM represents a more cost effective approach allowing more systems and more independence per TEL.

The original prototype while very capable also requires protecting the FCRs from sabotage and Radiation seeking missile. Not to mention keeping them “on” is very expensive for a military with the budget of Iran. If your systems have to be “off” most of the time to save costs then what’s the point?
