I agree. That is why I said in Navy topic that IRGCN will need years and golden tears to learn this naval doctrine. But it is the only way to train crews, to learn and approve operational and safety procedures.They shouldn’t have released this footage.
If they are worried about operators training with 60% scale drones and crashing into water then they should have built a replica on land to train. Not sure what experience they gain from a 1/3 mock up.
I remember when RQ-170 was finally unveiled, Hajizadeh said they crashed over 10 drones trying to perfect the design. But I assume you wouldn’t need to crash that many Qaher to learn to fly it off a deck.
Usually navies install first a ski jump at a naval airbase like China, US, UK or India (Bandar Abbas AB was ideal for such task) and then train thousands of take off and landings to check aircrafts, crews and procedures. But well. Future will tell.
