Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Does Iran mass produce the Fakour 90 missile, it is claimed it has 150km of range.
Yes, there are also many other air-launched weapons made in Iran that must be installed on the helicopters and fighters that Iran buys from Russia in future.

And toooooo risky to shoot a IR missile so close of a Mig29!!!!. Those off boresight missiles can slave the side aircraft easily!!!!!.
This shows the ability of Iranian pilots. Ukrainians lost several fighter jets due to shahed hunting missions

It can be carried and fired from F-4E/D "Dowran Upgraded" fighter but plane can barely pull 3-4 Gs with it.
I initially dismissed this idea back when i first read about it, but then seeing the americans put 4 (!) of the much heavier AIM-174 on their F-18E/F, with which probably that plane can't even go past Mach 1, i can see the F-4 carry 2 x Fakkour under the wings. Probably the MiG-29 could too if upgraded, one might imagine the Fakkour would be weighing about the same as AIM-54 at about 450kg.

Distorted Yak-130 pic but it shows tail number 105.

considering the two previous batches were of 2 Yak-130s each, it would lead one to think that in Iran there is also at least a sixth aircraft probably with number 106.

Interesting.

I too was under the impression that Fakour - even just two - would render F-4 severely G-limited.

I even think that such a trail with 2 Fakours on a F-4 was indeed carried out.

However, considering an F-18E/F carrying 4 of these shows what is possible if circumstances permit. These circumstances being the presence of R-37M and PL-17.

So somewhere there must be a way to make this happen.

Like so perhaps:- but on an F-4?

The above are of course just an artist's impression.

Fakour-90 specs:- Length= 3.96m, D= 356mm, W= 465kg, Range ~160km. I got the afore written info from the defence catalogue published online by Iran.

Fakour-90B/Maghsoud has an approximate range of ~200km.

Couple more shots of Su-57 in Iran.

Do you have a link by any chance to that iranian defence catalog?

As to the F-4 and Fakkour-90, i imagined two them carried on the big inner wing hardpoints (no Lo pods or anything fancy like that, but more or less just the way the F-14 carries them on the wing glove pylons) and if they're daring, a third one on the underfuselage pylon. After all, the weight equivalent would be of "merely" 3x Mk-83 bombs, and i'm sure the F-4 can carry that with no issue?

Copy that.

The IRIAF will have to look at this subject again, and very carefully.

That defence catalog is at:-

Unfortunately I could no raise Mindex at the moment, but I will search for a possible screenshot of Fakour-90.

Well bummer. I was interested to see all the stuff they have in that catalogue, not just the Fakkour. Maybe there's a copy of it saved somewhere!
