China's C919 has obtained airworthiness certificates from many countries and is challenging the market monopoly of Boeing and Airbus

They bought the CRJ program. Likewise, Airbus bought the C Series program, now known as the A220.

You don't consider Land Cruiser an Indian company.
Thanks, appreciate the clarification on that.

The Chinese achilleas heel are the engines. Airlines today are more dependent on fuel costs than ever before and with the western governments' restrictions on exporting the latest engines to China, it leaves the C919 less competitive.

You haven't heard of Bombardier?
More than just Engine (Even engine tech was about 10-15 years behind)
There are 2 reason why C919 has not been granted EASA and FAA certification. EASA require a certain green aspect in both the Engine and the Fuselage to pass its certification, there are no way a LEAP-1C engine can pass that, and there is no way the C919 Fuselage can be compliant with the current EU standard, that require an overhaul, I don't think this is going to happen unless C919 have some substantial order

FAA is both safety and political issue. Which itself is going to be this way as long as Trump is in office.

The layout also is another issue, C919 have a standard layout, which is not really favourable toward regional airline (aka cattle class) and you can't change the layout like you did with Boeing 737 Max or Airbus A310 because their cabin is not modular (you can't remove the bulkhead to compensate with the passenger deck) Along with the engine issue, is going to be extremely uncompetitive with both Boeing and Airbus, and regional market is where those Narrow Body flourish, this is not going to change in the next 1 or 2 decade until Chinese engine tech and aircraft design started to measure up to the West. Can Comac hold down disadvantage that long, that's an unknown.

We are still 50 years ahead at least for them and couple of decades for alabalama or some red neck shit hole from were you are lecturing me,
I'll grant you part of that; where I am there are indeed a lot of good ol' boys as well as a lot of fellow vets. We keep to ourselves.

I've been to Alabama. Lot of nice areas in that state. Number of friends live there too. Almost took a job there years ago.

I do not care, just do not poke me with your non sense, not in mood to talk with you as already exposed as evil and bad online person.

C-919's first priority is to serve the vast Chinese aviation markets, which will be accounting 20% of the global total, thousands of C-919 if not more need to be produced to meet this vast demand, we still have lots of time to pry open foreign markets, just like Chinese EVs, they didn't reach today's dominance in one day.

Run along son. You are quite annoying. I am neither evil nor bad. I am a realist who is also practical. I do not subscribe to every Zionist / Jew / Hindutva / whatever hair-brained theory you people come up with.

You have a lot of hate in you. Buddies of mine spent some time in your neck of the woods just prior to 9-11.

You are just white boomer full of shit harassing people online with worst attitude that america could brought up in person, full of arrogance and false assumptions, simping for whatever his government feed him to simp.

And yes i hate guys like you, who are lecturing people online while they salivate on dead brown children killed for jews sake and are happy about it.

Chill,it is humor, indian, paksitani or me do not have a say in this matter, we can compare specs and stats only and pretend that we are experts.
you're living in utopia man, 919 can be compared to tested and reputed products like 737/320

90% of my holiday trips to upcountry have been on a Boeing. 720-B, 707, 747.... in all of them, I felt safe.

First time I flew in an Airbus, I hated it. It felt "plasticy" and I did not feel safe. I hated every minute of it. It always felt like the Captain had to force the engines to move the plane.... too many changes in engine noise. Maybe the Capt was a duffer, but my bad impression has stuck. I hate all Airbuses.

The UGLIEST airliner EVER.... I hated not every minute but every second... was the Trident. Perhaps .. for that time... the most advanced plane technically (it was also the fastest), but something about it was off putting.

I would most certainly fly on a Chinese airliner, first chance I get.

Unless and until this plane completes 2 decades in the skies of China, Niger, Congo, North Korea, Zaire I suggest India should not allow any flight for them over 3rd tier Indian cities for safety purposes and after they have 30 years of clean record then India should consider allowing them to cross even over main hubs.....

BTW, Boeing's misfortune started when they took over McDonnell Douglas. Boeing's engineering led culture was replaced by McDonnell Douglas's bean-counter culture.

Many companies have suffered irreversible damage to their reputations when they let accountants run things.

I wonder what COMAC's corporate culture is like? I hope it's more engineering and less bean-counting.

Bolded section......ABSOLUTELY true on the A-321neo. First time flying on one I thought the same damn thing. I'm like "WTF????" Finally got to the point that it was background noise and ignored it.

Now......CRJs? Love those planes.

You are a seasoned traveler when you are booking flights to not just check the schedule and cost but what aircraft is assigned to that flight as well. I have turned down flights because of the aircraft type.

I would have done that too but I had no say in the matter as I was being hauled across the country ... I was very young and we only had one PoS airline (not PoS back then... the air hostesses used to give me free comic books).

But now? Yeah... only 747 and 777 and C-130 for me.

Used to go and have a look at Jinnah's plane, parked and preserved. I always wondered what it would have felt like to travel on the toughest/safest plane ever made... DC-3.
