PAF Special Purpose Assets - News, Discussions & Updates

It seems DA20 is being phased out to be replaced by KE03, upgraded to an advanced electronic warfare platform, along with additional Global 6000 EW platforms. A mix of 4 KE03 EW and 3 Global 6000 will serve a long purpose for some time to come; it's a good strategy. Nevertheless, DA20 is now an old platform. Even though the EW equipment is newer, it needs to be replaced. There is a possibility of transferring some new EW technology from DA20 to KE03EW.
Says who? Why would they do that...?

yep some of the DA-20s just been recently overhauled . They have a fairly new EW Suite as well. They arent going anywhere

Problem is that the PAF has only three of them, not much interms of capacity, or to account for combat attrition given the value of these platforms. Hopefully they can be supplemented with HAVSOJ soon..

Sir, are you missing Squadron 4 ?

"....the Pak - Turk MoU could also speak to the PAF’s wider EW efforts, which involve a number of different homegrown programs. These programs include a communications EW (C-EW) for communications intelligence (COMINT) and multi-band jamming roles, GPS denial systems, passive electronic intelligence (ELINT) sensors, and many other systems for potential use by both the PAF and the Pakistan Army (PA).

While Pakistan is currently prioritizing domestic EW projects, the likes of the National Aerospace and Science Technology Park (NASTP), Defence Science and Technology Organization (DESTO), or National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) could be interested in drawing on Turkish technology inputs and expertise."

yes but supplanted heavily by ground based sysstems and also escort jammers on fighters

No sir. I was referring to Squadron 4, which was previously operating KE-03 AEW&C aircrafts.

Some rumors says it has been converted into EW platform

Wow - interesting if that has happened. Would like to see if they are re-using the dome sensors itself or if they are just reusing the plane but installed new EW transmitters etc.

In theory it would have to be a massive airborne jammer or ground jammer to completely block the radars and SPECTRA of the Rafales.
