US will officially recognise the Persian Gulf as either the "Arabian Gulf" or the "Gulf of Arabia."

The first to settle in it were the semitic cultures of Dilmun during the Bronze age (>1000 BCE). They were the ancestors of the Arabs who reside the Emirates and Bahrain today.

Iranians did not even see the gulf until the 700s BCE when the Median Empire and Iranian pastoralists began to settle further south.

By 900 BCE: Assyrian sources mention the Parsua/Parsa near Elam.

Sir Charles Belgrave (1894–1969) was a British political adviser to the rulers of Bahrain from 1926 to 1957. He played a central role in the modernization of Bahrain's administrative and legal systems. But in the context of the “Arabian Gulf” naming dispute, Belgrave is remembered for being one of the earliest Western officials to popularize the term “Arabian Gulf” in the 20th century.

The term became more widespread after Egypt’s President Gamal Abdel Nasser and other Arab leaders openly adopted it in the 1960s.

It's a British-Zionist-Emirati/Saudi petro-dollar sponsored forgery.

Thanks for answering yourself, " 1000 BCE" . Iranian Tribes occupied the area between 2000–1500 BCE . These countries were created by the British after WWI. Bahrain was part of Iran until 1970. Bahrain was historically part of various Persian empires (Achaemenid, Sassanid). It was not until the 1800s that the British took it.

No one care what the Orange man says

Arabs defeated and conquered Persia and Arabized the Persians with culture and religion.

Therefore there is no problem to call it Arabian Gulf.

It’s surrounded by more Arab nations than Persian ones (just Iran).

U.S and zionists are no one's dog to change one of the oldest historic names until 6 decades ago when Persian Gulf regimes created

Trump is not the problem here.
This is not the first time that Saudi Arabia tries to provoke Iran like this.
People who think that this is new and Trump is responsible for this, should know that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries like Iraq, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, etc. have been provoking Iran by calling the Persian Gulf "Arabian" for a couple of decades now.

The only difference is that Saudi Arabia seemed willing to mend our ties last month, but this shows that nothing has changed. Instead of confronting Iran directly like they did, and they failed, they want to pretend they are friends with Iran but act against Iran's interests behind the scene. Kind of like what Erdogan's Turkey has been doing lately.

I never said the Saudis aren't morons.
