The military has really shot itself in the foot with IK. If he was out, even if not as PM, right now, he could have been someone to rally around, but I fear they have gone way too far in their hatred, and expended all goodwill. And now they and Pakistan are paying for it.

In this Tweet, he is correct in saying this 'The Israeli drones to India will increase sympathy for Pakistan in Arab countries'. But I'd say not just in Arab countries but in the large community on Twitter, You Tube etc which bloomed during the recent Israel-Gaza war.

More importantly, such a scenario could give them the strategic justification to walk away from the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), something they've hinted at in the past.


Their behavior over the last three days suggests they are not backing down. A few military losses seem to have been anticipated and factored in. If this escalates into a full-spectrum conflict, India’s size and capacity will start to matter in a big way.

Why cause the name shouts the truth, army should either be in barracks or at the borders. They they shouldn't be given the defacto control of the whole country. Right now enemy is at the gates we need to be united however this will not and should not give carta blanche to the army to do whatever the **** they want. This will be my final post on this matter. Sir, this time situation is different and let me explain why/how.
not gonna go back to 2001, there was no engagement.
2016, India claim surgical strike which Pakistan deny any civilian deaths, hence our response on LOC was justified.
2019 India claims to kill 300 Terrorists, we deny the claim and say no civilian died except a crow and few pine trees, but air space was breached and bombs were dropped hence our response was measured, no damage on India side, again justified.
2025 this time India bomb main land Pakistan, we acknowledge 26 civilians deaths, including kids, but unlike 2019 when we chase them out this time we shot down their fighters while escaping, and than we blow up few check posts, so technically a response was there even if we were only defending, this " response " is enough why people are confused whether Pakistan will take further action or not, we have never seen Pakistan take out 4-5 fighter jets and hit brigade HQ ever before.

I want to see their mainland cities got hit so their civilians feel the fear our did, second they hit a dam so our response has to be there, or else next time they will blow up shah faisal masjid, and other major dams in Pakistan, and we will only chase them out. Job is not to just chase enemy out, we have to make sure they think 1000 times before doing something stupid next time, you can't do it without responding.
also no international media has run news of 5 indian fighters down, they all say its Pakistan's claim which is not verified, heck even our own people don't believe it 100%.

Honestly, if you don't mind me saying this, sitting in the US, you want a massive escalation so you can see a full blown war from distance. As an expat Pakistani, you should think more logically. All of us want to see a response and have seen some solid reckoning already delivered with more waiting in store iA. But we all get that we lost ppl. Now it is up to the GoP to decide how to respond. They have a perspective on the overall situation that you and I sitting behind a keyboard don't.

You could have your political differences with the people at the helm, but whether it is PTI, PML or PPP, I care about Pakistan's security first and foremost. Going into a full fledged war will not address Pakistan's strategic interests. Thus the need for a well thought-out response. Let the other side stew in anticipation.
