US will officially recognise the Persian Gulf as either the "Arabian Gulf" or the "Gulf of Arabia."

this is not quite true, it's a report and something that Trump is still "considering"

but this is a total redline for Iran. if he does this, Iran must immediately cancel all negotiations and disperse the stockpiles of 60% HEU around dozens of undeclared sites and remove all IAEA inspectors / oversight and withdraw from the NPT.

1. Americans are shit at Geography anyway.

2. They spell loads of English words incorrectly. They even pronounce them incorrectly too.

Alooomimum.
I am actually very proficient at geography thank you very much. Granted, there are quite a few who don't even know who the President is much less find Pakistan on a map. So I'll give you that.

Those we spell and pronounce incorrectly by the Brit definition? Simply to rile up the Brits.

As posted somewhere in this thread, it will always be the Persian Gulf to me.

I doubt Iran would have come to meet Trump in Saudi Arabia with the Palestinian traitor Abbas at the same time

Iran's response to US "Arabian Gulf" plans makes US back off (not official)

President Trump is set to court major tensions on his upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia next week, where he's expected to declare that the US will officially recognise the Persian Gulf as either the "Arabian Gulf" or the "Gulf of Arabia."

This move comes as Arab countries have been lobbying for the geographical name change of the waterway that skims Iran's southern coast.
update: Trump changed his mind and didn't do this.

As well as to over 95% of the planet, and almost all of the scholars without special anti-Iranian agenda... thousands of years nomenclature can't be deleted overnight, I am not saying that "re-branding" is not possible, but it would be millennial long run..
