PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Today I was sat in a park enjoying sunshine and a young black guy approached me and asked if 8 am Pakistani? To which I said yes.
He said he's a Sudani living in the UK. Then he shook my hand and called me crazy and laughed.
I also laughed, as I don't get agitated easily, and said nothing.
He then asked carried on saying. We Muslims need crazy people like Pakistanis.
I asked him why is saying so?
He said you guys don't think, you just fight.
I was confused because I didn't have a physical altercation with anyone for decades.
Asked the guy who just called me crazy twice, for clarification.
He then mentioned recent Pakistan India war.
Said you guys fought and beat up a country much larger and stronger than you.
It felt good.
I thought that this conflict and Pakistan coming on the top, has boosted morale of Muslims beyond Pakistan, in countries far away.

We don’t fight though. We retaliate.

@13:45 he says India fired a ", projectile" on Pakistan and they took it out.
That can only be a ballistic missile?
A lot of them were taken out in mid-air.

You can see the f#*kin' things lying around in the middle of no where.

...& that includes their precious BrahMos.

Hui Tong, a long known veteran analyst of China's military aviation keeps track of the development of PL-21.

From Hui Tong's page:

"This new ultra long-range active radar homing AAM has been under development which appears similar to British Meteor. It features an active radar seeker and an integrated ramjet/solid rocket motor with a single or twin variable belly air inlets. PL-21 might feature 4 small stabilizing fins behind the active radar seeker, a characteristics of Russian R-27/AA-10. Two-way datalink antennas may have been installed in the tail section for mid-course correction. The maximum range of PL-21 is estimated to be 400km, effective range is 320km. It was rumored that the first ground launch test took place in March 2010. Similar to PL-20, PL-21 is expected to be carried by J-16 even Su-35S for long-range interception against enemy transport aircraft and AWACS. It is also expected to be carried internally by the new generation of stealth fighters including J-20 and FC-31."

Yes, and if you would check his site today, this is long deleted since it was never confirmed and in the end was rated false!

Just look at the Post # 2,946.

That is where we stand.

Final.

It comes from the "OFFICIAL" Spokesperson of the Pakistan Armed Forces (earlier today).

Maybe I missed it, but when - at what minute in that video - did he mention any date or even more the date of 1st August 2025?

Again, no-one denies that the J-35A is coming, but based on all i know, it cannot come this year and even more so never ever on 1st August!

The site that I follow still has it listed.

Oh! Indeed ... my fault! ... but again, per all i know, there si no PL-21 yet and as such how could the J-35A for Paksitan already be equipped with it?
IMO it is the same onsense like claims, it could carry the PL-17 ULR-AAM internally.

He actually hasnt said anything confirming nor denying or giving a timeline.
It is coming but could be 2035, 2028 or tomorrow based on anyone's imagination.

Keep in mind - IF it comes to pass that the J-35 SYSTEM(not airframe but the complete package) is READY for combat AND depending upon the preparations in the east. You are likely to see a calculus between Pakistan and China that leads to the system being in numbers in PAF before it gets to PLAAF.

One thing that has been DEMONSTRATED - is that the "cry wolf" of India on two front has simply realized itself and the two military system of China and Pakistan are working in more unison than expected.

I have Timestamped it, so it should start where the journalist asks the question regarding the J-35.

By the way, he asks at - 9:55

And in all honesty..., there is no date mentioned at all. So if any of the guys start saying later this year, mid-next year or even tomorrow - just FWD this this video & be done with it.

Pakistan Air Force isn't buying a lawnmover. Its a 5th Gen & these things take time.

On a lighter note. I mentioned on the J-10 Topic. The remaining 16 have been 🟢lit.

By soon with regards to 🟢lit can you give us a hint😁?

Just quoting a twitter post doesn’t mean that I endorse or am the source of that info. This is a forum and we post here to discuss things, I posted this to see what others have to say on this.
General common sense for public social forums:

When a poster reposts something with an opinion.
  • If the poster holds a different opinion or wants to ask for other people's opinions on this opinion, it is necessary for the poster to repost other people's opinions with his or her own opinion content at the same time.
  • If the poster does not post anything, but simply reposts, then we usually assume that the poster agrees with and supports the viewpoint.

About what you retweeted:
1. August 1 of each year is China's Army Day, the anniversary of the founding of the PLA. Around this date, PLA's important task is to deal with the content related to this holiday, and they will not deal with general external affairs.
2, As for PAF's 40 J-35 ..... ...deliveries start in 2025 ...... I don't want to say too much. You can read back through the thread.
This is an outright fake news.

J-35 questioned raised by Arab News to DG ISPR.

I listened carefully to what he had to say.
His statement was in line with other official statements, but completely different from what many Pakistani Twitter users and media outlets were saying.
He said that it was being evaluated and implicitly indicated that some observations and recommendations were being made.
In my view, this is a more reasonable process. It indirectly suggests that so far PAF has not formally signed the procurement contract for J-35. So much less a definite delivery date.

To date, there has been no official announcement of PL-17 and PL-21. so the definitive answer is that they do not exist.

All we can say is that there are two long-range AAMs being tested in China. Military fans and media call them PL-21 and PL-17. they have not yet been officially recognized, nor have any clear data been released, everything is speculation by military fans and media. It is even entirely possible that in the future other codes will appear or they will be replaced by newer missiles.

"PL-17" has been seen so much that it should be in service by now. No point making a dummy missile for a munition still in testing phase. "PL-21" the one with RAM jet on the other hand have basically 0 indication that it even exists in real life. Likely cancelled when the more advanced PL-16 came.

It simply doesn't make sense for it to be inducted this year, unless PAF wants a plane unable to carry weapons.

So far as the public is aware, it hasn't even gone through weapons testing yet.

At the VERY LEAST I don't expect it to be inducted any time before late 2026, and that's assuming China skips a bunch of formalities around testing, and speeds everything up, including weapons integration.
