MY father promoted to 2 star at that time I joined force as well and in my mind I had a hope may be my father will become 4 star but he took retirement after some time I ask my father why he responded that he almost served 30 years and achieved success for the country but it would be a lot of expectation when you became 3 star or 4 star and within limited time of period you can't implement your new things or thoughts and if someone achieve this one within small span of service as a 3 or 4 star so it would be consider a great achievement and must be given more time so that he can deliver more cream of his career for upcoming events and it is very hard anyone can get and who get it he would be consider lucky for the nation as well.

Does PAF need J35 by the end of this year? Will it not be better to acquire couple more squadrons of J10s over a 2-3 year period and then procure J35 at a later date.

We need to allocate budget wisely.

Not sure about J-35 so soon but wouldn't surprise me about China's massive engagement with Pakistan on both the economy and the defense fronts going forward. The 100 Hour War (or 'The Four Day War') we just witnessed is a global sensation already: It has shamed India and propelled the Chinese and Pakistani image to new heights. And therefore Modi has to come out ahead by trying to humiliate Pakistan militarily.

There is no universe where Modi can humiliate Pakistan militarily by attacking it. The best chance they have is Pakistan launching some Kargil like operation with militants and India claiming victory. Those days are over.

.This incident exposed many things but critically specially lacking new technologies with IAF, and pak is very vunrable with lack of good air defence systems.

I don't do blindly as many people are doing both sides of boders going with emotions and statements of both sides of claims- it does not matter for them - it's true or not.

I think it is more about creating an effective deterrence to future attempts at strikes at Pakistan with a higher threshold than what they have now. Additionally the "dhoti soiling factor" of a 5th gen platform is far far far more than the J10CE as it is a generational leap in the 'Indian pysche'. Look at how they are mentally scarred from the F16 era, same intent with the J-35A. A 5th Gen J35A Block 1 optimised for air-to-air in its first incarnation would do wonders in-terms of security increment. I think it would be better to sell the J10CE's to the PLAAF if they "could"(not possible from what some Chinese members here have said) and use that money, and any remaining money to go full-in on the J-35A.
