Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

on May 10th there was an additional dog fight between Pakistani and Indian jets, this time in Indian airspace over Srinagar.With Indian ground air defenses jammed Pakistani combat jets breached Indian airspace
A rumor.. Nothing else
Only idiot would have crossed LOC of come close to opponent In Highly contested environment.

Ispr denied going into Indian air space. So did IAF

Going into dog fight means 50% chance of losing plane and it's never 1vs1 dog fight... Air defense + other planes step in...

BVR missiles are future of combat

Not really. The Hindu nationalists themselves reported this. May or might not be accurate, but many Indians sources reported PAF action over Srinagar.

@Baibers_1260

In fact there is fairly reliable information from ground based journalists,

Who are these reliable ground-based journos?

Regards
Unfortunately censored but Yale military studies professor and editor of the magazine Caravan Sushant Singh alluded to this event in his write up.. Watch his interview in The Wire channel with Karan Thapar

I didn't think Bilawal Bhutto would be so openly against India-Israel combine while in NYC. Pakistan's economic dependence upon the America led order is too significant for such displays as by Bilawal.

Living in the U.S. and dealing with Westerners from a very young age, you have to show aggression to establish a position, or you leave room for them to walk over you. If the space is afforded to them, then there is no going back.

He didn't mentioned crossing LOc and dog fight.
Raid can be bombing campaign

@SoulSpokesman

If events had been going to plan, Indian newspapers like the Hindu, and Indian Express would not have been asked by the government to withdraw the news of losses to Indian warplanes. That their news was correct was confirmed later by AVM Bharti and CDS Lt.Gen. Anil Chauhan.

Why reliable media reporting was suppressed and why the information space was left open to Republic TV is yet unexplained.

An aspiring regional hegemon being forced to ground its Air Force for two full days by a country 10x smaller is no small feat and this is the first time this has happened in aviation history between two peer nations.
@SoulSpokesman
Yes, compare this with the success of a parallel action by another regional hegemon on October 24, 2024 with 100 combat jets flying 2000 km striking 20 military targets in Iran with devastating results. All planes returning safely to base.

India wants to be seen as a "wannabe " comparable to its ally. The capability of course to carry out even a much reduced operation is much less

China wants to fight India to the last Pakistani.
They will give Pakistan everything if China believes Pakistan going to use it against India.
tbh, you guys are not that of a worthy opponent for China to give "everything", just a handful of J-10C+PL-15 could rule the sky of South Asia , are you sure you can handle if China really give Pakistan "everything"?

"From heroic air battles in 1965 war, where Flt Lt Imtiaz Bhatti downed 2 Indian Vampires to Cold War-era vigilance during Soviet-Afghan War, the Squadron has always remained combat-ready. In 2019, Cobras activity participated in Operation Swift Retort, executing precision airstrikes with Mirage jets in response to IAF's Balakot incursion. Now equipped with J-10C 4.5+ generation fighters, the Cobras continue to embody precision, courage and aerial dominance. In the recent aerial engagement with IAF during Marka e Haq, the J-10Cs from No. 15 Squadron successfully shot down IAF fighter jets including 3xRafaels, 1xMig-29, 1xMirage-2000 and a SU-30. Throughout its distinguished history, No. 15 Squadron has demonstrated unwavering operational resilience and tactical excellence, evolving into a vital component of Pakistan’s air defence strategy." Modi agreed because he had achieved adequate narrative buildup after striking bases across entire Paksiatn.

You just accepted what we have been saying since the start of this conflict or any conflict under Modi. It is not about achieving military or strategic objectives. It is all about narratives and domestic politics for Modi. He is using his own military as a pawn for building a narrative of showing himself as a strongman. He went to ceasefire on a day when Pakistan successfully bombed five airbases of India just because he thought he had enough to build a narrative and fool his populace

He got his own airforce thrashed at the hands of enemy. His airforce is at a clear disadvantage today and stands exposed just so that this narrative of Modi being a strongman can be built. This is such a disgrace for Indian military itself.

I guess filed Marshall Saab got carried away in popularity contest and thought of teaching a lesson or two to India after the success of 7th May. It was a wrong move.

Only person getting carried away is you

You achieved only one meaningful hit at bholari and even that didn't result in any air asset loss for Pakistan

I don't know what exactly are you so happy about. May be you are also a victim of that narrative that Modi was trying to build using his military as a pawn.

With J35 and PL 17, it will be interesting to see how India goes for:
1. Brahmos or SOW or Sub Soni CM;
2. LMs and PGMs;
3. Drones and swarm drones
4. All of the above.

For India, this should result in total destruction of Pak. Infra. otherwise, reply would be equally devastating.... (shortened escalatory ladder)

seems Pak. AD will have a very busy day!
