So, this is an entirely different scenario; now, years later, he took an army of 10,000 men to Mecca, with a few skirmishes along the way, and Mecca surrendered. So, there was an element of military engagement there, too.

Initial Muslim conquests seems to be limited to those nations who were addressed by the Prophet directly. It's more deliverance than conquest.

Your defence against the kaafir to your east isn't the issue. That has nothing to do with with fear and having much to lose. Because if you take the fear element out of the equation Pakistan would actually have a lot to gain economically if Iran were to purchase Pakistani military hardware.
