Needs atleast 6 months for troops deployment, then have to bring 1000s of tanks, APCs, artillery, all sort of vehicles from humvees to trucks, medical supplies, half a million troops. All that happens via sea. If they have to do deployments in Iraq then they have to cross strait for hormuz. Iran has 1000s of missile boats and coastal missile batteries to disrupt that deployment process. Only deployment costs are several hundreds of billions of dollars even if they go smooth. All that for what? Iran is far more difficult to invade then Iraq because of its terrain. Iraq was flat and much smaller then Iran. Also in 2003, US was the lone super power with no competitor in sight. US will be extremely dumb to spend so much resources now on invading Iran when it knows China is just catching up in everything technology, economy, military.

On the other note, I agree Iran should not attack US bases as this will invite further US air campaign. Let trump take this and let him leave.

Iran will not lose anything with USA invasion but the US will likely lose the status of Superpower with it.

An invasion of Iran would be a nightmare scenario for the US. It would be 100 times more difficult than Iraq, and would require 3 times as many soldiers. The casualty rates would be significantly higher, and I have zero doubts that the Russians would use this opportunity to take revenge.

Well I guess if this is the potential scenario, then Iran needs to prepare to fight like Afghanistan and be in this war for many years and cause immense destruction to israel and be prepared to take alot of blows from US and also cause havoc on US forces/bases in the region.
Unfortunately and sadly the great Iranian people would have to make alot of sacrifices and be willing to absorb alot of pain to get rid of this evil menace of Israel/US from the region once and for all who have brought this illegal war upon Iran despite it complying with all the 'international treaties' related to it's nuclear program and being under heavy sanctions for a long time at the same time.

What I admire about Afghanistan despite all its flaws and problems is that it is virtually untouchable now after having fought two super powers for decades. The US and Russia don't dare to think about invading this country again and have left it alone. Afghanistan today is more peaceful than it was ever before despite many internal issues.

Similarly Iran would need to be in this war for a long haul and must develop nuke for it's own survival and safety at the end of the day.

Well, it all depends. If Israel stops attacking Iran, then the wise move WILL NOT BE to attack the US. Just let this one pass by so Iran can rebuild and recover from here on.

If Israel does keeps attacking Iran, then the wise move WILL be to go all out, because then they will never stop it will be a slow and humiliating downgrade of Iran to the point it cannot fight and then they will try to for for another Iraq or Libya anyway. Would be better for Iran to jump in and avoid it in the first place.
