Persia didn’t “fall” to Turkic invaders because there was no unified Persian empire at the time. After the Sassanids, we accepted Umayyad rule because of Islam, and many Persians even served in their courts and bureaucracy, we had the experience of running an empire. We helped install the Abbasids too, but they grew weak and fragmented. After that, Iran split into many local dynasties and small states fighting among themselves. That division made it easier for Turkic groups to take over piece by piece. It wasn’t until the Safavids that a true Persian empire was revived. After that, we held our ground against the Ottomans, Russians, and other major powers to defend our borders and identity.
