PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Some dramatic and unforeseen changes have taken place during the last month... Now , Pakistan is adamant on tot for the fifth generation aircraft....if Chinese refuse , KAAN is the viable option.... turkey has given a standing offer for joint production.... probability is high Pakistan will go KAAN.

Nothing dramatically has changed and Pakistan is Not in Fire need to get a 5th Generation Fighter soon within the next years. That‘s all PR and an Information war … nothing substantial.

Even more, China won’t give you ToT as if Pakistan can demand this and Turkey has in fact nothing finished to offer yet.

So plain and simple: if Pakistsn wants a 5th Generation Fighter it has to wait what China offers and when if offers whatever. That’s the reality you have to face. If you want to Go the Turkish way you are going an unverständlich way, a much linger way … and in my opinion it won’t be a succesful one.

You are more "Chinese" than the Chinese...LOL.

In fact, there are many Chinese military fans who support the PAF choosing KAAN instead of J-35.
This is actually a better option for Pakistan.
This is true.
I also support PAF choosing KAAN more. Although this is unlikely.

There is no doubt that J35 will be exported to Pakistan. But we are not begging to sell it to them. This is a mutually beneficial action. If Pakistani friends think they have other options, the Chinese government will certainly respect their opinions.

IAF is in the short of sqds also so no worries 350-400 will enough
India's national power is growing rapidly. Its military power will also grow rapidly along with its national power. One can only be conservative and not too optimistic when anticipating the strength of the enemy.

Out of these , 50+ F-16 and all JF-17 Block 1's will be obselete by 2035. Assuming that all 100+ Mirages and PGs will be replaced by J-10s and JF-17 Block +3s. So the induction of J-10s and JF-17 or even J35s will not increase the numbers above 300 in the next decade.

Isn't the production rate of the JF-17 line in Pakistan a little slow? It even has export orders ah.

Pakistan can probably slow down the retirement of F-16s, early JF-17s and PGs that still have airframe life. if not keep enough number of frontline fighters, at least keep enough number of pilots. China can directly support active fighters if necessary.

Unsure what use PG is at all these days.....

PAF can use them to retain the number of pilots.

Why would you think that India in a period of rising national power would cut down the number of air force squadrons after several defeats? This is totally illogical optimism.

I think just using more airframe hours on the JF-17s may be a better idea.

Afterall, when full war comes and we need every pilot to keep up operational tempo, what use can many hours on PG be for net centric long range BVR warfare?

It may end up diluting the quality of our pilots

they will be phased out eventually. they are point defence platforms and at least saturate Indian radars even if not participating in BVR, and bolt off if they come under fire but if they come under fire then J-10 are not doing their job.
(I know , over simplifying air tactics here its just a layman view)

Yeah, understand your point, but effort to keep these flying and the lives of our pilots seems like a big waste of resources. Once a Meteor locks onto a PG (unless it has external help), it is pretty much screwed.

I think it would be wise for admins to close this thread for posting till we have some official clarification. Common sense tells that it will take minimum 2 years before we can see any J-31 in PAF colours hence we might not see/hear anything substantial as PAF is not IAF where official start boasting things which are to be delivered years after.

thats why I wrote this hypothetical scenario that J-10 should've locked and shot that Rafale long ago. but war is a fluid concept and air war has a 3 dimensions as well so yea that maybe a waste. phase them PG away gradually.

PAF CAS mentioned it, so to me that justifies some debate.
