Iranian Air Force (IRIAF/IRGC-ASF) | News and Discussions

Russia offered Mig-35 to Iran. Problem with a fighter in that class is its good for a landlocked and a passive country such as Azerbaijan.

You say we can only reach F-20, I say, let's give it a try.

Unlike others, I am not in a hurry to say that Iran immediately needs to buy a fighter jet. The military and IRGC are functioning well.
That doesn't matter, if we don't build 4th and 4.5th gen fighter gen, no one will even offer 5th gen fighter ...

we need at least 500-550 fighters to cover our sky ... buying 550 fighter jet from aboard is very expensive .... if we build these fighters inside Iran, then we can build at least 500 civil aircraft as well, with 1000 fighter and aircraft, we can have functional air industry in iran which will make job for 10000 technicians ...
F5 can reach f20 level which was superior to f16 at the time .if only we consider 40 years old techs
Now conder what f20 could become if politician didn't offered the contract to General dynamics

F20 was more capable and cheaper has better radar lower rcs was more compact and could scramble way faster had better more efficient and more powerful engine could fly higher and had higher rate of climb than f16 its AoA could not be matched it's only downside was 10-15 percent less range and carrying two less missile.
If the Iranians still have some unrealistic fantasies about weapons like the F5/F14, produced by the USA in the 1960s-1970s.
, Iran must bear full responsibility for its own destiny.

The FAB (Brazilian Air Force) has made the F-5 (F-5EM) one of the most capable fighters by modernizing it with the support of local industry. It has been in service with the FAB for 50 years.

The difference between Brazil and Iran is that we have an AWACS (Embraer E-99M) and SIGINT (Embraer R-99) fleet for support and force multiplier.

F-5EM is capable by South American standards. Not by any other.

The Brazilian F-5s are good for throwing bombs at cartel member houses and gunning them down with 20mm and provide CAS support against cocaine dealers

Not against IAF and its F-35s

One big difference to mention here.

Are you believe those are the reason west support reformists.
What i see is west undermine the reformists.
Like pulling out of jcpoa or calling Iran axis of evil or attacking Iran and collectively supporting the invader.

But I see is what west you result in increasing the power of conservatives.

by the way didn't pezeshkian mor focused on improving relation with east than West.
Pezeshkiyan is a curious person. He pretends to be a reformist, but has kept the conservatives in power. He follows his own agenda, which is dangerous for Iran.

The West follows their own interests. It is the duty of the reformists, as their agents, to find excuses for the West's blatant violation and breach of their legal obligations. I remember how Zarif and Rohani blamed the failure of the JCPOA on the IRGC. The exact same thing is true about the conservatives who try to blame Russia's breach of its obligations on the reformists.

At last something we agree on.
I agree with you on many things, just not with your obsession with the reformists. I'm a centrist.

Is the any fighter jet in service that can counter F35 supported by USA battle management systems and data link!?

No, Pakistan downed a Rafale against India, but would they keep their air force against USA F18, F15 and F16 (let alone F35 and F22) ....

The Zion air force is elite unit of USA air force

No one is talking about F5 and F14s , in fact if its was me , I would start from scratch rather than wasting time with aged USA platform ...

we need fighters, no one is willing to sell. Russia doesn't want to honor their contract and China publicly said that won't provide weapon to either side of conflict. So we only have one option left, is it hard to understand!?

centerist or moderate are zarif, zangeneh and rouhani

How many country not named Russia, China, US/EU can produce fighter jets without any western or eastern tech license/transfer/parts?

India relies on US/Russian tech
Pakistan relies on Chinese tech
Turkey relies on EU/US tech

There is no country with 100% indigenous fighter jet outside of the global powers. It doesn’t exist.

So your obvious solution is beyond difficult for a country like Iran and its limited financial resources.

IR forgot to stand up to U.S. requires a strong economy. They thought the West would always need oil because they only studied the 1900-1990 history. Then US invented fraking of the shale oil basin and the rest is history.

That’s why Iran needs the Su-35

F5 derivatives should be made in quantity for CAS / Anti drone to protect the AD system.

Iran Azerbaijan must be closed off to Israeli jets for good. Fill that area with everything possible.
