Can't we just stick to fatah-3 and Fatah-4 names ? They are good enough. Why call each variant with a separate name. Like the base is Fatah, but then one variant is abdali while second is ghori and third is ghaznavi. This is some next level shit.

According to the unofficial consensus among some forum members, Abdali is meant to signify a nuclear-specific role while Fatah for conventional role.

But it still doesn't make sense why they keep switching up its ranges, sometimes 450km, 700km, etc. It's like different missiles are all being given the designation. It's muddled up.

If so, and it has the capability to engage a moving surface vessel that is a massive game changer, as it would essentially make Indian carriers totally irrelevant in the Indian ocean

Many different reason for testing current stock, everyone does it, maybe they using new materials to make it lighter, new engine, new warhead. Many reasons

100% a supersonic LACM which is affordable and can be aimed and sent in by the droves. China has a solution but home grown with Iron brother help would be best.

I wish this was true but such capability does not exist in Pakistan missile program. The best we have are some upgraded Scuds, originally received from North Korea as part of tech exchanges, to which Pakistan made some improvenents. If it was that easy to build cruise missile or ballistic missile or hypersonic, every country would have them!

India's BrahMos is a Russian Yakhont to which India made some modifications. Even India cannot build a good cruise missile from scratch.

We mustn't forget that beyond the missile program, Pakistan's J-10 fleet (if further numbers are acquired) has a range of 500-1000 NMI and equipped with CM-400AKG anti-ship missiles, it could act as a massive deterrent to the IN in addition to No.8 Sqn's CM-400 equipped JF-17s. We could employ both types in ASh role because they would enjoy complete dominance in the air over any of IN's carrier based aircraft with PL-15s.
There are very many options to deter IN from operating freely against our coastal areas.
PN should also focus on SMASH-ER missile fully integrated into our SSK fleet.
