Launching ceremony of PNS SAHIWAL (Desig) Gun Boat held at @ShipyardKarachi. VCNS V/Adm Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami graced occasion as CG. The Gun Boat is indigenously designed by Platform Design Wing of PN & is under construction at KS&EW.

VCNS appreciated joint efforts of PN Platform Design Wing and KS&EW in furthering PN’s policy of indigenization. He extended his gratitude to the MoDP for continued support to KS&EW. He highlighted that platform is equipped to perform diverse maritime security tasks.

He also stated that PN is considering a series production of similar platforms to boost both indigenization process & uplift of KS&EW. Gun boat is equipped with high-performance, long-range semi automatic guns, enhancing its operational effectiveness in maritime missions.

These boats are big enough to carry missiles too. Some of our missile boats are of the same size.
 
I remember they were announced several years ago then it was all quiet, thought the project was scrapped good to see it wasn't.

It looks more like a smaller Azmat class, It's good though it means KS&EW is absorbing tech transfers.

Great to induct these, frees up the medium/larger ships for more important tasks other then Counter-Terror/Piracy/Fisherys protection etc
 
VICE CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF CONFERRED MILITARY AWARDS UPON PAKISTAN NAVY PERSONNEL

Pakistan Navy Investiture Ceremony (North) was held at Islamabad. Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and conferred various military awards upon naval personnel.

The recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) were Cdre Syed Muhammad Abbas Naqvi, Cdre Aamer Rasheed Malik, Cdre Kashif Elahi, Cdre Muhammad Afsar Khan, Cdre Rao Ahmed Imran Anwar, Cdre Dr. Anwar Hussain, Cdre Shahid Ahmed, Cdre Raja Muhammad Nasir, Cdre Jawad Haider Khawaja, Cdre Muhammad Zahid Zaheer, Capt Jawad Malik PN and Capt Atif Aman Chughtai PN.

The recipients of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) were Capt Hasan Ali Chauhan PN, Cdr Zahid Mahmood Javed PN, Cdr M Fahad Farooq PN, Cdr Tahir Jabran Khan PN, Cdr Aqeel Iftikhar PN, Cdr Muhammad Tariq Rehman PN, Cdr Abdullah PN, Cdr Nadia Zulfiqar PN, Cdr Umair Hafeez PN, Cdr Asghar Ali PN, Lt Cdr Nazish Javid PN, Lt Cdr Muhammad Naeem PN, Lt Cdr Shah Nawaz Abbasi PN, Lt Cdr Talha Naveed PN, Lt Cdr Muhammad Ali Shah PN and Lt Cdr Mohsin Rashid PN.

The recipients of Tamgha-e-Basalat were Lt Cdr Imran Haider PN and Lt Cdr Badruddin Khilji PN.

06 Awards of Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-I, 04 awards of Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-II and 15 awards of Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-III were also conferred upon CPOs and Sailors of Pakistan Navy whereas Letters of Commendation from Chief of the Naval Staff were awarded to 30 Officers, CPOs/ Sailors and Navy Civilians.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior, serving and retired officers of Pakistan Navy.

*WORKSHOP ON STRATEGIC MATTERS HELD AT PAKISTAN NAVY WAR COLLEGE*

The Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE), in collaboration with the Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS), organized a Workshop on Strategic Matters at Pakistan Navy War College (PNWC), Lahore. Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

While addressing the participants, the chief guest highlighted the changing dynamics of strategic stability in South Asia and emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to strengthen strategic stability in the region.

Earlier, President MCE, Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed, welcomed the participants and distinguished speakers. The speakers at the workshop analyzed the recent crisis between Pakistan and India in May 2025 and noted that the prevalent strategic thinking in India is dominated by an extremist mindset that aspires to establish hegemony in the region.

The event brought together a diverse group of senior policymakers, diplomats, academics, journalists, and defence experts.
