@Fatman17

What's this 80's fascination with those who think they are "old"?

If one is 60, one was already graduating and entering the job force when the 80's came around.

Can remember every Friday, gym class, we were taught how to dance to disco in the 70's.

Like to amuse the 20 somethings today when Staying Alive is playing at the truck stop. Still remember the moves.

They get a kick out of me finishing my grove with a finger in the air.

Oh, ABBA and Beegees songs from the 70s make even the pillared legs of Gen Z to move! I see them doing that when I request DJs to play old disco songs. Gen Z probably can tell that modern 'music' sucks! It seems most shows, movies, songs starting early 2010s suck!
Also, several songs shared by you guys above... I can't relate to them; not even with the Rolling Stones. In my house parties, some 60-65 range friends play 70s rock; I can't relate to them and they wonder why not because I am myself pushing 60.

Not a big Beegees fan but their music had rhythm. I did see the movie though.

So, 30+ years ago, I was dating this lady who was ten years my senior; yes, she was a cougar! We still remain good friends, although I have to minimize the contact as it upsets wife. She said you must watch 'Saturday Night Fever'. So we rented a VHS tape and watched it. I wasn't impressed. Urban scenes don't impress me and the ghetto like violence and scenes don't impress me. She was surprised. She also made me watch the 'Rocky Horror Show' movie (Susan Sarandon?) and that was also not impressive.

The King

Yeah, with the cathouse story, it did get a bit long then again, to leave some of the details out would have made it less funny. Still though, the look on that girl's face when I said I was just there to buy some water. Priceless.

Funny thing about strippers. I've never really met one who was say "in the middle". You know, a mom with kids trying to make ends meet or something like that. They've either been college girls earning tuition money or the other extreme; drugged-out crackheads in not too good of health and missing a number of teeth. No, that's not limited to Kentucky either.

Sometime today I'll post the story about the water source for the middle third of the project. It involves a ranch house that looks like it could have been right out of Bonanza.

Speaking of VHS tapes, who else here had the Columbia House subscription to buy VHS tapes in the 90s?? I recall, I had one for maybe $200/year where you could buy 15 movies. My collection was 'Nixon' (Anthony Hopkins), '1492 Conquest of Paradise' (Gerard Depardieu), 'A River Runs Through it' and many others.
Yup, I am a 90s guy!

The first time I saw Rocky Horror I was kind of dumb-founded. Like "people actually watch this?". Then I realized it was a cult classic and it helped if you had maybe a couple beers under your belt. I think I've watched it may 5 or 6 times most recently on TV.

Now, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" or "The Outlaw Josey Wales"? Yeah, I've watched each maybe 50 times. Same with "The Wild Geese". That movie was my inspiration to add a FAL to the collection.
