Anything at the expense of India is a bonus. We understand who our real ally is. It doesn't mean that Pakistan should refuse the offer. Pakistan needs to focus on trade with the US.

Pakistan never developed any industries or products that Western consumers or corporations would be interested in. For example Japan offered better cars and electronics, China offered cheap manufacturing and India offered cheap IT services. The GCC offered cheap energy. These formed the basis of big trade relationships with the West. What do we offer ? A few more towels or rice ? Some more pink salt ? I don't really believe the news over these mineral deposits that have now magically appeared.

The only reason the US cozied up to Pakistan in the past was to use the country against somebody, so who is it this time ? The only logic I see is trying to prevent Pakistan from getting closer to Iran and China and as a foil against India.

Future business in extraction and selling Oil, Minerals (Gold, Copper, Rare Earths). Limited military cooperation for NON-critical defense articles.

3) EU plus Russia: Second tier business and trade partners. Limited defense cooperation for NON-essential items.

We are the 5th largest population in the world. If we start to grow properly, just like India and China, we become the 5th largest market for other nations.

This realization should've been explained to them when $3 Trillion worth of American economy was being asked from Clinton to grow India to fight China....... at that time you guys only promised to fight China and be an all weather American ally.
