US to soon initiate Military support to Pakistan along with bi-lateral Trade growth, the Economist report

What's really at play is US's dependence on China!! China can stop the flow of Rare Earth's and US industry will stop. Pakistan will become a second supplier for REM's. So in case of a conflict, we can't replace China's massive production, but we can provide enough REM's to keep the American electronics industry afloat.

There is no carrot or stick here. Us Pakistanis are used to that dilemma. That's usually what happens when you have ONE dimensional relations, like military to military. They've invited our senators, etc, that's the protocol they and the West in general uses when they form a strategic partner ship.

In previous days, weapons like F-16's were the carrot. That time has passed. We've fought and won a small war without American weapons.
There's no dearth of REMs in the world.... America herself have plenty of them....... it's the processing infrastructure and the environmental hazards that are the core issues.

Us Pakistanis get stuck on our ideas and don't expand that thought process. India-US and US-PAK relations are separate to the US.

Just like that, PAK-China and PAK-US relations are and will always be separate. Try to understand the logic, I'll explain again I guess:

- China is our MAIN defense, science, tech and future CPEC related trade partner. No one is replacing that.

- US will be our second MAIN TRADE partner. Because through our read to extract REM's, it BENEFITS the US to form a close relation with us so the supply can never be at risk. This includes allowing Pakistan a bigger share of the US market for trade and buying things from Pakistan. We will buy some American weapons but they will be just like how we kept F-16's in recent war, not critical. That will be Chinese assets.

Lastly, we need to quit this mentality of "they are talking to ten other people". Global geo-politics means interests. They can talk and do business with 20 other people, who cares? As long as their commitment to us are good and we are getting economic benefits, that should be our key focus, INTEREST BASED.
Pakistan has annunciated her foreign policy in catagorical terms ! We want good relationship with both ( china and America ) but we will not have relationship with one at the cost of the other ........

Donald Trump in the White House on June 18th, just over a month after Pakistan’s brief conflict with India. Then, at the end of July, came further snubs for India: branding it a “dead economy”, Mr Trump imposed tariffs of 25% while hailing a new trade deal with Pakistan.

The field marshal’s fortunes reflect a shift in American policy that affects India, China and the Middle East. America’s close ties to Pakistan deteriorated after American forces killed Osama bin Laden in his Pakistani hideout in 2011. America then lost interest after leaving Afghanistan a decade later. But to India’s dismay, America and Pakistan are now rebuilding ties with a focus on trade, counter-terrorism and consultation on Middle Eastern policy. America may even sell arms again to Pakistan (it currently gets around four-fifths of them from China).

Either way, the field marshal would probably still enjoy America’s backing. He recently earned its praise for killing and capturing leaders of a local offshoot of Islamic State. He has sparked interest from Trump associates in Pakistan’s crypto and mining sectors. And he has positioned Pakistan as a potential means to advance America’s interests with Iran and its efforts to get more Muslim countries to establish diplomatic ties with Israel.

not sure about this one. interesting article nonetheless. But not sure how viable a US Pakistan relationship is when China is in the picture.

US relations are always Quid Pro Quo, For Pakistan to be of any worth to the US in any significant way, someone is getting stabbed, either China or Iran.

America also has the 2nd largest oil reserves they call "strategic reserves". They drill like 1% of those and keep them for the dry days, when Middle East, Venezuela and Russian oil will dry up. Same with REM's too.

You need to understand, having REM is one thing, having these in a soil that's much easier to extract, is a totally different thing. Pakistan is a lucky country where extraction of minerals is MUCH easier and sort of ready to go.

Anyone who lives or has been to our Northern area and area above central Punjab, knows the hills are essentially dirt based. That's why there is so much land sliding. So the cost and pain for extraction is much less.

I wrote a lengthy post on this, not sure which thread it was. Where I explained we are destroying these REM's with our hands, hundreds of tons a year by leveling the hills in KPK to build cement. Cement can still be made with that soil mix, AFTER REM's are extracted. But the big cement companies have power and money, they pay KPK government and no one stops them from crushing these REM rich hills!

Not this again... looks like we will never come out of this subjugation!

No one is getting stabbed , Iran Israel war ended cause Pakistan took Iran under her umbrella... middle east , regardless of her petrol dollars, will follow Pakistan.....being a nuclear power is not a joke buddy .

Right.
It is strange that so many here still think Pakistan was going to distance itself from China or 'backstab' Iran while the ongoing warming of relations is happening. If Pakistan withstood 20 years of really bad press, pressure while the Americans were in Afghanistan then the geopolitics for Pakistan is much better now. Not only the Americans are gone from Afghanistan but also China is more openly supporting Pakistan and Americans, at least as of now. are certainly not supporting India like it happened for decades until now.

Pakistan is a responsible nuclear nation. We showed extreme patience in May 2025 and the world knows and appreciates it. We don't need anyone's aid. Our military can fight and win on its OWN, humiliate a 4 times larger country and 90% more defense budget!

We are getting our house in order and starting to grow economically. And we have the 5th most population, which, as we grow economically, offers a large market for other nations businesses. We can help mediate issues to maintain world peace!

This is the message the world sees from Pakistan at this point. I say it looks damn good!

this is delusion. there is no umbrella.
Many countries in the world including turkey supported Iran and criticised Israeli aggression. . .guess why Iranian parliament was chanting ' tashakur Pakistan ' ?.....there was no tashakur turkey, Russia or china .....come down to earth , ottoman empire has been buried in the anals of history.

Listen that war didn't stop because of Pakistan, this is silly, it stopped for other reasons, namely the Israelis running low on interceptors.

and the word if Annals not Anals. lol

Not entirely accurate. Pakistan did have a role. Trump is very trusting of Pakistan. In face, I can say the original attack and the actual attack were two different attack plans. Attack intensity lowered due to Pakistan's request to negotiate with them per US demands.

:ROFLMAO: I noticed the "Anal" vs. "annals" issue. It cracked me up lol
