Strictly Pakistani made remote sensing satellite with no Chinese components. Finally. I know people in its R&D team.
How did Pakistan make the semiconductors needed for it? The ultra high resolution camera, radar sensors, processors etc have to be made indigenously by Pakistan. How is it possible when Pakistan doesn't have the fabrication technology?

Pakistani satellite reaches orbit after launch from China

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani satellite has been successfully launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center, the national space agency announced on Thursday.

The Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite-1 (PRSS-1), aboard a Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket, was launched at 10am (GMT+8) on Thursday.

It has successfully entered its preset orbit, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said.

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) said the new Remote Sensing Satellite will be a major milestone in Pakistan’s space exploration efforts and strengthen its position in Earth observation capabilities.

Celestial object to help in urban planning, disaster management, food security, ecology protection

“The Remote Sensing Satellite will provide imaging capabilities to revolutionise urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection. It will also greatly aid in monitoring climate change, managing water resources, mapping agricultural patterns and tracking deforestation,” said the space agency.

The launch was a result of the collaboration between Suparco, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and MICROSAT China.

The satellite will support precision agriculture to boost crop yields, monitor infrastructure growth and urban expansion, and enable more effective regional planning.

It will also enhance disaster management efforts by providing timely warnings for floods, landslides, and earthquakes, while tracking glacier recession and deforestation.

Suparco Chairman Muhammad Yousaf Khan said the satellite would support national priorities across multiple sectors and will contribute towards sustainable socio-economic development.

It will contribute to national development initiatives such as CPEC by mapping transportation networks and identifying geohazard risks, Suparco said.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who witnessed the launch ceremony as the chief guest, said the event was not only a technological milestone, but a “moment that lifts our national spirit and elevates our friendship with China”.

It's not about ego...

The logic is simple: if someone claims that A is using B country’s rocket and independently controlling the satellite launch, that would be false. After the launched, it's controlled by the ownership company of the settelite. I just pointed that fundamentally incorrect tittle. That's it.

Example the below one - if I said that india is going to launched - I could have false statement as well.

GSAT-11 satellite to be launched from French Guiana on Dec 5

Year - 2018.

Ego satisfaction - nothing else.
One article misses to state it and your core principles are violated??

Some Common Off the Shelf components were used for sure in its build. The overall design, integration, validation is of course Pakistani.

Maybe some things were built in Pakistan, but given that Pakistan has no real electronics industry the more sophisticated stuff will have been externally sourced for sure.

Hope people realize what this means for Pakistan in terms of "Earth observation capabilities." Very timely.

I would assume 300-400 Kg sat probably 1-1.5m resolution. Probably a PakTES class/replacement.

Design work done in Pakistan. Good quality paid electronic fabrication is available in Chine. Final integration/assembly/testing is done in Pakistan. What else you want to know?

It’s cheaper and more practical for Pakistan to use China’s reliable rocket program instead of building our own. China already has a mature system, so we can focus on making better satellites while they handle the launches quickly and efficiently.

Pakistan currently has three operational remote sensing satellites (PRSS‑1 launched in July 2018, PakTES‑1A also launched in July 2018, and a newly launched advanced optical remote sensing satellite ( Probably PRSS‑2 on July 31  2025), one communication satellite (PakSAT‑1R), and one electro‑optical satellite (PRSC‑EO1). To ensure comprehensive coverage of South Asia and enhanced capabilities, we still require at least 2 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites and two additional electro‑optical satellites.
One more small PAUSAT-1 1.5m resolution.

You need a launched, launch centre, ground stations, etc. and it all needs to be maintained at all times, all of that costs a lot of money to operate.

Unless you're receiving a regular order of satellite launches, it's cheaper to place an order with China or Russia rather than build something you may or may not use that often.

Yeah, makes perfect sense. By that logic, why bother building a car industry? Just import Chinese ones. No need for a domestic fridge or TV industry either, just buy Korean or Turkish brands. Power plants? Too expensive. Just import electricity. Universities? Waste of money, just outsource education to the UK.

And if you really want to feel productive, just slap on some paint and a sticker and call it Pakistani like in this news article.

We need timescales on how long it will take for a home made Pakistani rocket to reach space and dock with the Chinese space station.

Ababeel can be made into a KZ1A type SLV. Both have very similar layout.
