Pakistan Rocket Force Command News and Discussions

i wonder how much of this has to do with the failure of the conventional deterrent?

Having a rocket force maybe alters the dynamic a little? It would create that kinda fearmongering the world has with iran, but for India? Maybe?

It also has to do more with the way SPD handled the Fatah launches and perhaps (the lack of) proper guidance equipment to ensure good hits. Those launches were reluctant and perhaps not as accurate and destructive. Nuclear weapons are launched not in droves and w/o much regard to accuracy, may be such was the SPD philosophy. New force would have all the bells and whistles to 'deliver warheads on foreheads'. With Indians already spinning up their Brahmos, it is was a necessity to establish this command...

Initiative is good ...
But they need to be equipped with new generation of stuff ....
they need hypersonic and super sonic stuff to be effective in future .....
These sub sonic stuff can only used with limited effectiveness.....

Is this the beginning of the end of conventional artillery?
No, not for a long time, as demonstrated by the Russia-Ukraine war. The Indo-Pak war and the Iran-Israel war was simply a limited engagement, pretty much only involving lobbing missiles and fighter aircraft over long distances.
The moment a real, all-out war breaks out, with all sectors of the military engaged, like its happening in the Ukraine war, every side will be clamoring for more artiller. In fact, I'd say artillery actually has a renewed importance in today's battlefields, when it seemed to be losing importance.
The secret to why Russia is currently absolutely destroying Ukraine right now has to do with its artiller supremacy and drone manufacturing. In the future, just like we see in Ukraine, a peer or near-peer conflict will quickly get bogged down, with trench warfare, attrition and small-scale positional battles. In such a case, as Russia has demonstrated, artillery will play a vital role in clearing out enemy strongpoints and trenches.

India also had to rely on missile force to deliver a devastating final blow to Pakistan.
They lost 3-4 jets in conventional bombing and resorted to missile attack.
Pakistan is just following the Indian footsteps.Granted it was Pakistan who opened the pandora box of missile attack (F1 attack) , but now we know the true capabilities of Indian Missile Force and adapting accordingly.

Pakistan wasn't really successful in shooting down the BrahMos missiles that hit their critical commands and air bases. Hopefully, this means the military will also invest in more modern, and ubiquitous radar and air defense systems

Just in. Announcement by PM on the eve 14th Aug.

Pakistan will have two rocket & missile forces:

- PA Rocket Force: Conventional rockets and missiles force. Core focus on all locally produced rockets and missiles under the Fateh program. Currently, Fateh 5 is in development. It's core responsibility is to respond with appropriate mix of weapons, ranging from rockets, cruise missiles and supersonic / hypersonic missiles in a conventional war.

Pakistan Strategic Forces Command:
- Strategic nuclear delivery force designed only to give a nuclear response with strategic missile systems like Ghauri, Shaheen, Ababeel, etc.

All types of conventional missiles.

This started from May end and announced now. When India continued to say "Brahmos, Brahmos, Brahmos" and "S-400, S-400 and S-400", it was clear that IAF is out of the fight for now and a new warfare is about to start focused ONLY on long stand off range munitions, fired between 200-400 kilometers away. So you need a specialized force in that warfare. Very timely step.

We'll now see MASSIVE development and arming of this force as this force will run future wars to counter Modi and IA's stand off "missile only" strategy.

On the contrary, our artillery, especially SP units led by SH-15, inflicted unbelievable damage with their accuracy and rate of fire.
Before everyone knew they were good, but not this good

Hi, do you have any statistics to back this up? None of us know how many Brahmos or Scalps were launched and out of those actually hit their targets. Some definitely hit their targets, but how many were stopped we will never know.

There will always be battlefield losses and missile hits going both ways.

Even Israel with all that layered and overlapping missile defense, for such a small geographic area, could only intercept 86% of the missiles fired at it.

Everything in this thread is based on conjecture. Most of the people who post this don't understand what an independent Rocket Force would entail.

Can anyone provide the official original statement?
