How come he keeps going on tours and there's no deal being signed? Is this just an excuse for a vacation or something

So, I guess this is the final choice. They better include ToT in the deal, and possibly try to get the Bren 3

With the recent news of VT-4 tanks and possibly more VT-5 tank regiments arriving in Bangladesh, what do you think the armoured make-up of the Bangladesh military be? I don't think we'll have much use of heavy MBTs like the VT-4, MBT-2000 and the upgraded Type 69s and 59s since most of our country is swampy, wet and has soft soil. The only place for potential large tank battles is the north. In 1971, the Pakistan army also placed its sole tank unit in the north Bengal since thats mostly flat terrain.

Instead I think Bangladesh should buy more of the lighter tanks and other light APCs and infantry fighting vehicles like Bradleys. Most of the bridges in Banglades aren't equipped to handle the full weight of heavy MBTs. Not to mention in the event of an invasion, I'm pretty sure they will all be blown up. India know this too, hence why they bought a bunch of Bridge-layers recently. I think Bangladesh should buy lighter armoured vehicles, and to stop any armoured thrust, should invest in small FPV drones, anti-tank systems like Javelin and ATGMs. As seen in Ukraine, in unfavourable terrains, small teams of tank hunter-killers can wreak havoc on armoured columns. Same thing happened in the 1973 Israel-Arab war where small Egyptian anti-tank teams in the Sinai destroyed Israeli armour.

I forgot but a video was posted in the Bangladesh Army thread on PDF where a retired army officer was saying that the doctrine of people's war which the Bangladesh army might follow would involve them hiding their equipment and mixing with the civilian population to conduct a guerilla war. Insuch a case, I think delaying actions as mentioned above would buy a lot of time for Bangladeshi government to transition to underground war and mobilise the population for it.

So, I don't understand the rationale behind buying more heavy MBTs like the VT-4.

Also, invest heavily in fleets of attack helicopters. In Ukraine's 2023 counter-offensive, Russia Ka-52 alligators picked off Ukrainian columns from over 10 kilometers away.
Our current method of outfitting Mi-171s and soon to be UH-60 Black Hawks with armaments to provide CAS isn't gonna work in any serious capacity.
I'd have suggested buying the Chinese Z-10, but i heard one unit costs $45 million which is way too expensive, enough to buy a J-10C instead.
Good bang for buck helicopters can be the Russian KA-50, KA-52 or Mi-28s. But, Russia cannot be relied on to deliver anything, because they're in war and they've already bailed on Iran's jet deliveries.
I guess the only good option left are the US Bell-AH1 Supercobra or Vipers but they're getting on in age.
I don't know much about European attack helicopters so can't comment on them.

Also, where do we get the increased budget for defence? We are already broke as hell, and we need to repair our economy, so we can't just pour money into military hardware willy-nilly
