Section IV of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951, is titled "Citizenship by birth" and establishes that any person born in Pakistan after the Act's commencement is a citizen by birth. However, this is subject to two exceptions: a person is not a citizen if their father was an enemy alien at the time of their birth, or if their father was a diplomatic agent of a foreign sovereign power accredited to Pakistan and not a citizen of Pakistan.

• 2024 Amendment:
  In November 2024, the National Assembly passed a bill to change this policy, and it is now the case that citizenship by birth requires at least one parent to be a Pakistani citizen or a permanent resident.
• The Pakistan Citizenship Act of 1951 deals with the deprivation of citizenship from existing citizens who are found to have acted in ways against the public interest.

Enemy alien is not defined and Afghans have been classified as refugees since 1980. The November 2024 bill was never passed hence the Citizenship Act of 1951 remains on the books. It's why Afghans born in Pakistan all carry Pakistani passports.

Give it a rest dude - the State can do whatever it wants including deporting anyone including those who were given citizenships. NO ONE CAN WIN AGAINST THE STATE !

It is not clear to me at all. Please explain in specific detail how exactly Pakistan getting deeply entangled in a direct confrontation with Afghanistan hurts India very badly when RAW's primary objective is to keep Pakistan bogged down in internal insurgencies and conflicts with Afghanistan and Iran.

Harming the interests of an ally/proxy of Delhi will harm Delhi. If the current Kabul regime is defeated, Delhi will need a new partner and this will cost them resources, if one is even available to them. True, the nature of the harm is somewhat unspecified and generic, but harm will occur.

Absolutely! The hatred and animosity I have seen in these past few days from various factions across the Durand line is concerning and alarming. Nationalists from both side should calm down and should put a leash on their barking dogs who want to erase the other side from the face of earth. This bloodshed is not in the interest of anyone except the real enemy.

What we are witnessing on western border is a rapid deterioration of state control both on political and military levels. This downward spiral, if continued - will provide a perfect opportunity for the enemy to strike from the east.

The effort of State of Pakistan should be geared towards the ultimate objective which is establishment of lasting and durable peace on the western border in order to confront the real threat. Internal pacification is mandatory and could only be achieved through a political settlement. State cannot fight on internal and external fronts, it is simply not sustainable. This is not a time of jingoistic rhetoric and saner heads should prevail to calm things down.

You conveniently forgot to read the the last paragraph - as per Citizenship Act of 1951, the state can "DEPRIVE" anyone deemed to have worked against Public interest.

You do Understand that PTI got majority in atleast 3 provinces this elections if not for form 47 against all odds so you saying this is like calling 1/3 of Pakistanis TTP sympathisers.

What is this supra authority you speak of?

Who leads it? Who selects it? For how long is it selected? What rules does it play by? Can I be a part of the state? Can I replace the state?
