Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

This war is all about 2 things. First is the Bagram air base which was refused by
the Afghan Taliban and the other is Asim Munir's extension.

If Asim can remove Taliban and Americans can get Bagram then they will
support Asim's extension. Just like they supported Musharaf when he handed
over 2 bases to Americans.
Keep lifting Imran's balls. YOu will eventually get tired.

Occupying any part of Afghanistan would mean having to fight an insurgency. The establishment is already facing too many open fronts - India, BLA, TTP, PTI, TLP, Kashmir, etc and has almost certainly committed troops for Gaza. The economy has stabilized a bit only because of the IMF bailout but is still vulnerable . The last thing that is needed another front on the western border.

Occupying peaks and strategic areas don't resut in any of the things you mentioned

We already have a western front whether you like it or not

Occupying Kabul? @Areesh is now gone beyond ridiculous

Poor innocent Palestinians in Gaza suffered what Afghans should have suffered instead

@Areesh

we needed to cease fire, so that, onus of killing women and children does not fall on us!

we cant afford collateral damage!

US did the same and found out, collateral damage nullifies any gains!

He is not dead

You like it or not but that is the fact
Are you talking about Noor Wali? Then no its not a fact. Theres no trace of him in any hospital and there is a very strong chance that hes dead. The people beside him are dead.

Good suggestions and ideally I would agree. But it is my assumption this will not work. In fact, it will more or less be non-starter.

1. No Afghan will agree to this. Its a death nail for them. Previous Taliban regime (the actual one) just left it at status quo with no fuss. But then the border was open and virtually meaningless, at least for them.

2. Ideally yes - not only removed and disassembled but extradited for their crimes. However, making any distinction between TTA and TTP, despite seemingly separate command chain, would be foolish. They are same.

Additionally, with Taliban appeasing India and latter planning to reopen its Afghanistan mission, Pakistan's concerns are no longer limited to the above two issues. Without forcing Taliban to subject their foreign and security policies to Pakistan's assent we'll not be able to stabilize our Wild Wild West.
Well its also death trap for Pakistan

Militancy will not stop untill both side agreee on whats what..

They absolutely have incentive, their state could collapse
They have rightly so calcuaoted that Pakistan need them as isis might be a bigger problem

They are bluffing and so far its working

Unless Pakistan create a situation you have described by bringing in another group they have zero incentive
