I am not opposed to banning the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). In fact, this action should have been taken much earlier—specifically when Khadim Hussain Rizvi founded the party by portraying Mumtaz Qadri (the convicted assassin of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, who was executed in 2016) as a "unique mujahid." At that time, Rizvi openly declared that the only punishment for blasphemy against the Prophet (PBUH) is beheading, repeating the phrase "sar tan se juda" (sever the head from the body) in public rallies.
There is also a widely circulated video from a TLP rally at Minar-e-Pakistan where Rizvi, amid the call to prayer (azan) from a nearby Deobandi madrassa, demeaned it by saying something "inki aazan ki kya izzat ye tau suwaron kay b suwar hain". This inflammatory rhetoric stems from deeper ideological roots. The core issue lies in TLP's affiliation with Barelvi thought, particularly the teachings of Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi (1856–1921), whom TLP followers revere almost to the point of ascribing near-prophetic status (nauzubillah). Many Barelvi groups, including TLP, draw from Khan's fatwas, such as those in Husam al-Haramain (1906), where he declared Deobandi, ahlul hadees and shia scholars (and by extension, their followers) as kafirs (disbelievers) and murtads (apostates) for alleged insufficient reverence toward the Prophet (PBUH).
For instance, even among the more peaceful Barelvi organizations—like Dawat-e-Islami, led by Ilyas Qadri—initiates are required to pledge allegiance (bait) based on Khan's Husam al-Haramain. This text explicitly labels non-Barelvis as kafirs, deems their calls to prayer invalid, and describes their mosques as "mosques of disbelief." The vitriolic language used by Khadim Rizvi and his successors today is a direct inheritance from Ahmed Raza Khan's writings and his fatwas. Though, In the writings of Ahmad Raza Khan himself, there are such severe blasphemies against Allah's final Messenger and even against Allah (wahabiyon ka khuda ye karta etc), which I cannot even describe here. Therefore, it would have been better to first discredit Ahmad Raza Khan based on his own very blasphemies writing, and then to prohibit their followers from following and accepting all of his teachings like he cannot do mistake.
