Punjab looks to ‘neutralise’ TLP

its the mindset of the masses there, unfortunately.

This is why you/we have to be extremely careful when in Pakistan because even the so-called educated ones are quick to throw a temper when you disagree on any religious points of views or dont do things their way. They get offended and start throwing labels. There is very little religious tolerance.......people take advantage and can easily get u killed under some LIE based on religion.
Too many people have lost their lives in the guise of enforcement of religion...

Remember last year or so when that poor overseas Lady with "halwa" written in arabic style on her Qameez almost got lynched by mob in lahore?
Thats the kind of shit that scares me where someone innocent can get brutally murdered by these religious fanatics anywhere if those nutjobs get triggered by the way you/we dress or talk or go about.

NOBODY deserves to be killed or their place of worship, or home attacked if they're a minority....or even practicing muslims too. There is too much intolerance everywhere in Pakistan which needs to change.
People need to start respecting others and their opinions......rule of law should be established and people need to STOP taking law into their own hands when it involves suspected cases of blasphemy as well.

Politics and mob-ism on the basis of religion needs to be stopped.

From my experience all Pakistanis are like that, the moderate clever ones are in to politics and money making, they will trap you via the law to overtake your land, blackmail you for money or ripp you off, the mullahs are not so clever so do the same using religion, just to get their frustration out. The zombie followers believe whatever been mentioned to them, the same with followers of secular parties, whatever rubbish the rulers say they reply with "labbaik".

French riots over pension, in Pakistan these people would be labelled as terorrists and shot dead. I am not encouraging this but in a modern democratic nations the people are the real representatives and they will come on the streets to show their anger. This doesn't mean they are terrorists and must be shot dead.

TLP issue is it's mullah lead party, and these people have no idea about politics, how to play dirty, play with media etc, they are blunt people. It will take them atleast 30 years to either disappear or be like JI and JUI.

Alot of people are blaming establishment for Tlp but it's not true, people need to do research on who issued fatwas against TTP at the beginning when everyone else refused, Tlp types used to protest against terrorism and support Pakistan army for jihad against terrorism, and during protests they only managed like 5000 people, but slowly over the decade they became strong and united. Today under hybrid regime anyone who opposes the rulers is facing brutal crackdown, all this stuff about extremism is propaganda, our secular rulers are the worse.

I don’t buy fauji propaganda. I know plenty of TLP supporters from my own village and they’re ordinary people, backing TLP only for religious sentiments, nothing else. But Pakistani khooni liberals keep cheering for violence against molvis, and now the fauji fanboys have jumped on the bandwagon.

The TLP issue started when ttp started war against Pakistan, they targeted Darbars, Sunni ulema, Masjids but noone cared, for over a decade sunnis faced attacks but state looked the other way, the same way shia people faced attacks at masjids. This is when slowly aggressive political organisations/movement started to develop, one TLP and one Majlis Wahadatul Muslimeen, they came in being to defend themselves from attacks by Jamat Dawah, Lashkar Tayba, Lashkar Janvgi, SSP, Jaish Muhammad, TTP etc. This is how over the years they become more and more aggressive, alot of young people who are frustrated with big parties joined them, especially religious youth.

The issue as usual is the rulers don't care about common people.
One of the first protest against terrorism and extremism, hardly a few 1000s people attended, but today 100,000s would attend.

They actually gave fatwas against ttp and vowed to defend Pakistan. The issue now is our rulers have changed their policies again, they are in bed with same saudis who funded terrorism in Pakistan and want to recognise Israel soon. The mullahs must be controlled first, Independent political parties finished, leaders jailed.

Thanks for the history lesson. I didn’t know their background, but in my experience, they gained a lot of supporters and prominence when the Noon League government made changes to the Election Act 2017.

@PK781 brother ,this was when people in my area first started backing TLP and before that it was pretty much unknown.

Possibly but the work was being done behind the scenes to start a sunni movement against terrorism, and on the other hand start a shia movement against terrorism. You see back then no jamaat was giving fatwas on behalf of Pakistan army, except individual ulema and they got killed for it. JUI and others refused to declare ttp as terrorists, JI declared army people as not martyrs.

Mufti Sarfraz Naimi was killed after issuing fatwa against TTP.

Sunni Tehreek holding March to support Pakistan army (today will be labeled as terrorist)

Now imagine top ulema being killed, masjid attacked, darbar attacked, army people killed but state failed to protect them, this is where slowly TLP took the vacuum. So when the state needs mullahs they are heroes and when it doesn't need them then are extremists. They the same people lol, just like Taliban were bhai and now dushman.

good information brother.

They are no longer considered necessary, as they pose obstacles to the recognition of Israel. So they are now being labeled as extremists, a tactic used to dehumanize them and justify the state’s brutality.

I was listening to a clip of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, where he mentioned a man from the tribal areas who fought alongside the Pakistan Army, and whose two sons were also martyred. But when he fell on the wrong side of some officer, his NIC was cancelled by NADRA and he was declared an Afghan refugee. That’s how they use and dump people.

this shows those officers didn't love Pakistan and its interests. They just loved their big egos.

I am against any and all kinds of anti- state elements.

But the TLP is no longer just a party anymore. Things can get out of hand very quickly. The decision makers need to take extreme care here and tread carefully. They are dealing with what the rural populations of Pakistam consider to be religious vanguards of their belief system.

This is not the case of a JI or JUI or any other minor belief system party that has very small roots in the Pakistani society. You are talking about the overwhelming majority of both the rural and urban belief systems.

A wrong turn or decision now could cause a big storm down the road that will drown everything.

Pakistanis don’t seem to handle power well, for most reaching the top is about suppressing others or showing off. The army feels more like a family business these days, with faujeets serving generation after generation. So why would they ever want that grip to weaken?

Could you please define what you consider to be the 'state'?
A State; as in a state that defines the international boundary of a country and that can issue you a passport or other such official, legally binding documentation that identifies you as a person, and will be or is regarded by other such states as a valid piece of information, vs. a non-state entity that is not able to carry out such bureucratic procedures, and will be not regarded as valid by other states even if it did so. This, from now on, can be referred to as Delta2's definition of a state after I gave the question a little thought.

In this specific case, the state refers to the Govt. of Pakistan which, despite being inept, corrupt, mafiastic in its current form and mostly absebt from its peoples' lives, is responsible for the lives and identity of its people.

The concept is self explanatory at the end of the day.

What if TTP is doing all that you mentioned and ruling us with danda? Will it become a state?

A State is the only entity within its borders with the complete monopoly on violence.

The TTP is a foriegn funded intelligence operation that can easily be dealt if its funders/architects are hit twice as hard every time they do something. If the TTP do a bombing, the Pakistani state should target its funders/architects.

But in regards to your question, there is a much higher chance of the TLP defeating the TTP and taking control of the Pakistani state just because of its large numbers. But to answer your question, if the TTP is able to take over the Pakistani State and becomes its ruling government, then that will be the Govt. of Pakistan.

But the Pakistani govt does not seem to be serious about handling and dealing with the TTP. They are engaged in some sort of strategy playgames about it.
