The ONLY reason I support(ed) a retaliation or pacification of the region is because Taliban over running, attacking or opening a front with Pakistan on its western frontier opens up a Pandora's box... a whole new set of consequences and destabilization... to the point where it collapses the regional order. There is no equality here... in fact this pegs Pakistan a few notches lower from the highs after the May misadventure from India.

So, this right here is no face saver... it forever taints not only the relation/perceived relations out in the open...
Russians have paid a huge price to uphold not only their primacy for one reason only they will not allow either a proxy or adversary at its borders... and they'll keep paying the price and extracting it in greater sum. Second, zion has established its primacy in a hostile region where can go and bomb Doha and not expect retaliation.. Third, Modi put his states prestige on line to deny that it needed US to broker peace with Pakistan after being slapped around for a few days...
