Anyone who thinks this is a perverted person. The F15 is a tough nut to crack for the Su-35. The F15 is a missile truck with a big radar, a long range, and serious onboard systems. The MiG-29 has no chance against the F15. The Su-35 without data connection has no chance against the F15 with Awacs data connection.
I have the feeling that some of the commenters here are enthusiastic patriots but hopelessly incompetent.

That su-35 have no chance against f-15 even without awacs ,maybe once it was the case but after replace the radar with AN/APG-82(V), f15e and f15ex can eat that su35 easily. Su35 chance is how good the khibny pod act

They usually go by official announcement or some very credible journalistic source. MP qualifies for official announcement but I highly suspect he understands different between new air frames or upgrades.

Key will be recent most Sat images of Shiraz FAB.

SU 35 radar can detect them from 300km away. They can intercept, at least fire off long range missiles and then fly away, engage drones, cruise missiles, provide defence for the missile launch crews.

IRBIS E of SU-35S can probably track an F-15 (RCS ~ 10m2) at 250+ KM but its a PESA radar so it will be jammed badly by western Jamming pods. In such case four possible solutions exist.

(1) Multiple Flankers spread out and those who are far away from Jamming attack can track the targets and transfer the tracking info to those being in line of jamming through Datalinks. Common counter to jamming among AFs.

(2) IADS itself takes responsibility of Search n tracking and datalinks to fighters whose radars are turned off. Difficult because Iranian Datalink is different from Russian one.

(3) SU-35S has one of the most powerful IRST on any fighter jet on earth so even without its radar it can track a target, even a stealth one and use SARH/IR guided missiles to attack it.

(4) Wear ECM pods and jam the enemy before it jams you. SU-35S has Khibiny pod for this job.

All in all, a fleet of 60-80 x SU-35S can cause problems for IAF over Iraq.

IAF Su-30s cant find our JF-17s, J-10s or F-16s, can't get off any shot against them and Su-35 will see F-35 at 300 km?

Set a tiny effective view, basically you need to know exactly where to look, then concentrate energy on that exact angle.

Any AESA can be pre-configured to scan a tiny angle, but nobody is doing it.

No it does not have such instructions, in fact what it have is one of the weakest in the world

And you, do you have formal proof that production of the Kowsar is over? You ask me for sources, but for others, you can leave it to them. Wikipedia has its limits. This week, there was talk of the Misagh-5 for the Basij. It's not clear why the Misagh would have gone from the 3 to the 5, but it's likely that the 4 was a test transition for a new technology or something like that. It even mentions an improvement to a portable system from South Africa. I don't know any more than you do...

In short, discussions are more constructive and progress-oriented than here. Unfortunately, you've driven a lot of people away here.

lol, this is marketting nonsense.


300km detection can only be achieved by scanning an area the size of its hud at a time, so unless cued by 3rd party lr sensors, is like needle in a haystack- from a pla officers report on the su35
