Respectfully I disagree. IMO the establishment did not manufacture Imran Khan, they just exploited his popularity inserting their own pawns and later claiming credit for his success. If they truly possessed the ability to create leaders then Nawaz Sharif and Maryam would not have lost Punjab despite establishment backing. Jahangir Tareen’s party would not have collapsed, Pervez Khattak and Sher Afzal Marwat wouldn't have faded into political obscurity. Mustafa Kamal once touted as MQM’s replacement would not have been forgotten...and now with reports of GHQ attempting to assemble a new party around Shahid Afridi, Iqrar ul Hassan and Jawad Ahmad , we can only conclude that their “leadership engineering” is more illusion than reality.
You’re misconstruing support for engineering.
Yes IK was popular - but he would not be able to break through the PML and PPP and MQM entrenchments. Establishment actively helped here to the point they prevented election agents from other parties entering voting booths.

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was not allowed on Thursday to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan despite a court order.

The Islamabad High Court directed the Adiala jail superintendent to implement a March 24 order that reinstated the twice-a-week meeting schedule for the former prime minister Imran Khan.

However, the jail authorities did not allow a meeting with the incarcerated prime minister, forcing the chief minister to leave Rawalpindi.

The directive came as a larger bench, led by Justice Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and including Justices Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Azam Khan, collectively took up all 11 petitions filed by PTI leaders regarding Imran's jail visitation. The ex-premier's family and party have repeatedly accused prison authorities of "sabotaging" meetings with him.

Thanks for proving that emotional maturity skipped a few generations.
But some in the 'emotionally mature' generation seem to be adamant to the reality, chasing their wishful thinking, and living in delusions. Let's hope they start seeing through it and touch the reality.

I understand what you mean, but in that sense Shahid Afridi is also very popular, and even with establishment's support he could never convert that into votes. In 2018 people were genuinely fed up with PML-N and PPP, which gave Imran Khan a real chance, even if the establishment had simply stayed neutral.

Ah yes. the classic "everyone but me is delusional" speech. Must be cozy up there on Mount Reality. It’s always the ones furthest from reality who talk most about it.

If hypocrisy, falsehood, and evil had a name, it would be Imran Khan Khtakhail. The truth comes out. The truth behind 'operation regime change', 'ham koei Ghulam hein', and all anti-America bullshit that the liar IK spread to deceive Pakistani and to make them fool. It is disgraceful attempt to sacrifice national interest for personal interest and to gain some political mileage. This fake 'sadiq and ameen' liar is a selfish evil to the core.

The reality is:
"He told us, when he was still the prime minister, I got this political situation here domestically, I'm gonna start blaming you for everything"

"... and then he got a message out to the US government help me get out of this and we went to Jemima..."

I am sorry if I have hurt your feelings. But I want to let you know that it happens, world is a bitch. You will need to get strong emotionally. This is the only way.

Well, those rigging claims from the 2018 elections are mostly just noise.... big on drama, short on facts.... Take PMLN for example, after all that crying from the rooftops about being "robbed", they only bothered to challenge 15 National Assembly seats.... Even if they had won most of them, it wouldn’t change a thing... And that famous RTS ka "Baith" jana? Same story.... Even the most imaginative critics admit PTI was leading on 108 seats before it crashed and 116 after it recovered, a grand total of 7 seats.. Changes nothing ..

And while there's no denying there was pre poll and post poll rigging in the 2018 elections too(or in every elections since 47 for that matter), trying to compare that with what we saw in 2024 is downright hilarious..... What happened in 2024 wasn't rigging actually, it was open, unapologetic "Badmashi" by the Army, a blunt reminder to us bloody peasants about who really is the King ..

Was such a reminder really needed in 2024? The hierarchy of pawer has been well established since Gen Zia's time and those who choose to ignore always pay the price. As we can see.

There’s a crucial difference this time around, one that many deliberately overlook......

For the first time in the nation’s history, an overwhelming majority of Pakistanis are not happy with the Army’s blatant interference in politics.... Under Zia and Musharraf, the public naively celebrated martial law, deceived into believing that politicians were inherently evil and corrupt, and the Army their redeemer.

That illusion has finally collapsed....and the consequences of this "awakening" will be profound and enduring...

It is still the same public, no matter what certain echochambers on social media may claim.

That is why the mantra oft repeated that "this time it is different" has failed to find any meaningful traction or results in over two years, and this is not likely to change, as was predicted by only those who saw past the cacophony here.

There’s a daylight difference between thievery and dacoity, 2024 was a full blown heist by GHQ dacoits.

As they say, denial ain’t just a river in Egypt. Those who still refuse to acknowledge the reality of February 8 and the unmistakable public sentiment hardly merit a response. You’re free to live in your delusions...

What’s truly amusing, though, is how many self proclaimed constitutionalists and supposed champions of law and due process (here on PDF and beyond) have now been thoroughly exposed.... Their thinly veiled cheerleading for dictatorship, simply because those at the receiving end happen to think differently, reveals them for what they truly are.
