I still remember that day I was at home sleeping still trying to figure what I was going to do with my post high school life my mom woke me up she’s like the buildings on fire I’m like what’s on fire she tells me turn the tv on I’m like damn ok tower is on fire but looks like some kind accident was still half asleep than hear the news commentary saying it was two planes in like man one is an accident 2 is not than you hear about the others I turn to my mom I hope it’s nots Arabs(wasn’t a joke we always hope it’s never us or people pretending to be Muslims)and my mom was like I hope not but she said stay home don’t go nowhere stayed home for like a week my mom for like a month

I was at work for the City of Detroit when 9-11 happened.

There were still planes up in the air, we were all instructed to leave the City-County Building and meet at Hart Plaza, then sent home.

The chance of an airplane hitting downtown Detroit was zero. But that was the level of paranoia going on across the nation that morning.

Then a month or so later, the anthrax laced letters being sent to government offices.
