I knew KSA and UAE will patch up. But people in the forum were not agreeing with me.
There's no permanent enemy or friends in geopolitics. I also used to give example of Qatar. How they blockaded it and cut ties but that was sorted too.
Who would have thought that states who share the same ethnicity, language, religion, culture (by large), geography, neighborhood etc. could be at odds with each other and have disagreements - in particular between regimes etc.?
Or who could have fought that there is hardly 1 single family in this world of 8.5-9 BILLION people who have not had relatives or close family at odds with each other at one point in time - sometimes serious issues. Let alone with your wife, siblings, children, close-knit family let alone distant relatives.
Now imagine how it works in geopolitics (which solely about how country x or y and regime x and y can utilize its strengths to gain power at the expense of others) between countries in an volatile region that the whole world is meddling in and which has many fault lines.
It is not like any Saudi Arabian, Qatari, Emirati etc. was ever at odds with each other. Or that we suddenly started to hate each other or dislike each other due to regime politics in a largely messed up part of the world (of late) with 1 billion intricacies etc.
Whatever one can say about the internal divisions in the Arab world (which are real) they are largely irrelevant compared to the constant warfare that similarly close peoples (European) used to do against each other for 100's of years culminating in WW1 and WW2 that killed 100-150 million people (on top of my head - the numbers could be wrong - never using any AI on any forums).
Even today the Ukrainian and Russian war (two brotherly people that share everything in common) is more bloody than any modern Arab vs Arab war as in countries (probably also more bloody than in all of our recorded history - I don't' recall any large scale Arab-Arab wars in history) by far.
30 years ago we had actual genocide taking place in the Balkans between identical peoples who look alike, speak the same language and just happen to have a different religion (Bosniaks vs Serbs vs Croats etc.)
And I could mention 100's of other such examples.
Millions of Han Chinese dying during the Chinese civil war (s), Africans butchering each other to this day and the list goes on. Or in South Asia. Look no further than the extremely bloody partitions back in 1947. Or the many wars since then. Or what has been going on in Afghanistan since the 1970's.
All this should not be an excuse but we (ordinary people and media) tend to blow things out of proportion and are extremely quick to create poison in the minds of people and to create artificial enemies.
In reality most sane people get along rather well for the most part regardless of origin and have more in common than the opposite. We all do when you think about it more closely.
I cannot write a post for the next 22 hours or so (no idea what the cause of this - apparently I wrote "off-topic" posts on the US-Iran "war" thread perspective - albeit it was related to the topic and events - but never mind). In short, I will not be able to reply.
