Afghanistan announces start of $10b TAPI gas pipeline project

except that there was the news story and the increase pariah status of Iran

They just joined BRICS, they are not isolated or pariah. lol, they just joined an organization that Pakistan wants to join, but is being blocked from joining.

If anything Iran's stature in the world is growing, Iran currently is stronger as a regional force than its ever been in its modern history. able to project power from Iran to Lebanon, project power in the Persian Gulf, and even the Red Sea. Its probably the most consequential country in the middle east right now and arguably the strongest in the Region. Its reach is even growing into Central Asia, in the case of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

The amount Iran exports in oil and gas is increasing, not decreasing. If anything Iran has become resilient to sanctions, where at this point, the sanctions have diminishing returns.

What you say makes sense with a caveat... it's fine if the circumstances are normal but they are not ...
1). Our agreement with Iran has become an albatross on our neck and we don't want another one . 2) there are very good chances Pakistan is going to hit the jackpot in oil and gas ....we got to wait for a few months to get a clear picture .

You are going to hit the jackpot with oil and gas? Is that your plan D? Always the easy way out.

Pakistan isn't going to get entry to BRICS. Pakistan has become a nuisance. Even regionally. Even allies like China are now setting strong conditions.

Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the UAE are non-permanent members of BRICS, while India, China, Russia, Brazil, and South Africa are permanent members. Among them, India, China, and Russia are the founding members of BRICS.
the BRICS bank, which is equally shared—is being funded 41 percent by China, 18 percent from Brazil, India, and Russia, and 5 percent from South Africa.
Being a member of BRICS is significant, but that alone doesn’t make Iran financially comparable to China, or even to India, Russia, Brazil, and South Africa.

India is the super odd one in BRICS. Please ask me why.

Good for you ......if there was no oil and gas , with your mutta traditions and beautiful women , you would be like Thailand of middle East.

Lmao, I'm neither Shia, nor Iranian. Why the need to get sectarian and disrespectful.

I didn't say Iran was comparable to China. But there is no such thing as permanent and Non Permanent members, this isn't the UN. lol

The issue isn't necessarily China but India blocking, and unfortunately Pakistan being a bit of a joke right now on the world stage unfortunately.

Little Bangladesh now has a bigger economy than Pakistan these days, and the leadership of the country is a bunch of Mir Jaffers. There are a lot of things Pakistan needs to fix.

You need strong leadership to fix things. Something Pakistan doesn't have at the moment.

We don’t need strong leadership, we need a sensible leadership. A stupid strong leadership like we saw with IK is a disaster in the making

Sensible didn't get Pakistan very far. Sensible in Pakistan often means selling your country to the Americans.

You need a strong leader that dares to make tough decisions.

You don't select your leadeship - it comes pre-selected and pre-installed for you.
