Good afternoon,
I have been reading many forums, including this one, but I have not had the time to register and participate in the discussions. Fortunately, my fellow brothers from Pakistan are doing a good job of safeguarding our rights, as we are also Pakistanis by birth, just like Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch, and Pashtuns.
I would like to clarify that JAAC is not our representative authority. In my view, it is a group of individuals, many of them small business owners, who initiated this movement primarily to gain funding from Kashmiris living in Europe, as well as to achieve personal popularity and benefits.
They often highlight the difficult living conditions in our region, such as poverty, high electricity costs, and shortages of basic services. It is true that many people face serious challenges, including poverty and problems accessing clean drinking water. By focusing on these issues and claiming credit for reductions in electricity bills and other concessions, they are able to attract people to protests and public demonstrations in the hope of securing further benefits from the government.
While these hardships are real, I do not believe JAAC represents us as Kashmiris. Rather, I believe they are using these issues to gain funding, publicity, and personal influence.
