I will say again, when Pakistan built Mangla dam, what was the local population
And what is it now?

We have now given subsidies for decades


The money comes from Pakistani tax payers

We need to build roads and hospitals and schools

Even in donkey areas like Tribal areas we need to build something for backwards monkeys to try and change them we can't keep giving money in subsidies forever

What do you think they are trying to do

All these subsidies are KILLING us and they need to be ended

And eventually they all will be because we CANT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THEM as a country


The same goes for Azad Kashmir, we can't pay for these guys forever

We have done it for 60 years, the population has grown multifold and the Pakistani tax payers has to bare the cost for millions

Will they not say that we were promised (like Kashmiris) when we joined the job that we will be given a pension!

Many debate that a govt shouldn't pay pension. It should be privatised or, like the Gulf, 'get while you can work'

True statement, and they will need to be if this country is to go forward

I think the kashmiri situation just came about and now it's probablem

But the fundamental is true


The country and the tax payer can not pay for these subsidies forever, it's simply not possible especially with a expanding population both in Kashmir and Pakistan as a whole, that money is needed elsewhere


If the state is constantly blackmailed with threats of violence at some point it has to say enough is enough



Between the interest and debt payments and subsidies of one kind or the other, Pakistans finances get wiped out

And we have nothing left to allocate to important things like infrastructure, schools, hospitals etc


We need to start ending all of them, increasing our tax base and expanding our economy so we can go forward as a country

What was the population when the mangla dam (made by tax payers money) was made???

How many years have locals been compensated?

Do we expect for the rest of eternity, millions of people will get subsidies and tax breaks forever????




We need to get to a position where every Pakistani has the same rights and same responsibilities


Everyone needs to pay Tax

We can't allow tax payers from some parts of the county, to subsidize others forever

The country needs to utilise resources and develop resources and we can't have chaos and conflict because locals think they have some special right

For how long so they want special treatment?

Who will pay for everything? Where will the money come from?

Pakistan needs to honour their treaty it made. It has no sell by date. For a very good reason.

A long term economic strategy for this area and it’s peoples you can not build a huge or a artificial lake used to store water, generate hydroelectric power, or serve as a large general supply of something to rest of Pakistan middle of there province. And then in return people we have made landless go stuff tvhemselves. The huge metropolitan populations in punjab and sindh are nicking resources from AJK KPK BALUCHISTAN these people and areas are left out we just take there resources and not give anything back to them. Attitude of some of Pakistanis on here is stuff rest of Pakistans provinces

And I guess why there’s so much poverty in these areas.

A pension is not a subsidy, it can be discussed of course


But I will make it clear the burden of paying for all these subsidies on the Pakistani tax payer is SIMPLY TOO MUCH

We are struggling to pay for infrastructure and hospitals etc

Other parts of the country, even Kashmir itself needs money for multiple projects

Hopefully eventually with a expanded tax base and growing economy we will find the money
Especially once the electricity IPPs etc come to full term


But the tax payer can't pay millions of people subsidies for HUNDREDS OF YEARS

It's already been 60 years or something, and now the population is bigger

It should always have had a end date, the lack of a end date is ridiculous

Because that means you pay subsidies forever,.until they end of time and Judgement day even if the population increases multi fold


The problem is that money doesn't grow on trees and it comes from taxpayers

Sugar and fertilizer earn actual export dollars. And the cheap gas these days is almost a from of gasification of Thar coal.
