Maybe, the contract isn't signed. And only one of the two will be selected and it includes complete ToT and IPR holding with India as a pre-requisite. Otherwise F414 that will be made in India under license for the LCA Mk-2 will be going into AMCA.

That's part of the contract for which both have agreed, and hence submitted proposals. It isn't for existing engine but for a new 120KN one. French would want to do it as it will further guarantee 114 Rafales under MRFA for IAF apart from 31 more Rafales for IN (If TEDBF doesn't go as planned and even more to replace MiG-29K). This will be a large and lucrative enough contract for them apart from the $7.2 bn project for this engine alone, to share the IPR and ToT, in my opinion.

Let's see where it goes.

No one gets complete engine ToT, that is probably some of the cloesest guarded secrets in military tech. Literally they would be handiing over their very compeitive edge to India.

No, plain and simple for the 100th time! No country ever will sell for a few X Billion $$ a total ToT! Never … and as long as India does not understand this simple rule of the game it will always be not only behind but a looser!

It's a joint development project not for paid ToT of existing systems. And I'm sure both sides would've worked out well before they sign it. $7 bn isn't a few billion either, especially when it guarantees you 145 more Rafales for IAF and IN. As I said, lets see how it goes.

A joint development makes only sense when both partners are equally capable … here India can contribute almost NOTHING but money, so from the standpoint of shared technology, India would benefit, while France would / should transfer … and that won‘t happen!

In fact NO country would sell or transfer its crown-jewels of technology for a few $$ and in fact $7 bin are peanuts in comparison to decades of research, investment and experience. Like I said so often already. India must do it alone, it‘s like walking. Calling each time for mom and dan or an uncle or aunt is still not walking alone.

And in mind of a few more Rafales, just forget it,it no argument for a ToT. Either you accept this and do your homework or you won‘t even more get neither an engine nor additional Rafales.

The terms of this deal will be solely made by France, period … discussing this again and again is like discussing what would change if the sun rises in the West! It won‘t ever happen.

No one is co developing anything of significance with India. You have had 20 years of throwing money around and the west promising you this.

You are literally still begging GE to deliver fully made engines to you for Tejas.

Sorry my friend, thsi statement is wrong in several points and a blatant lie or maybe since you don't know better, just a teenager's wet-dream!

Get the facts correct first:

1. Neither is France and UK willing to jointly develop an engine with India ... there is no contract signed and India will at best select only one! Keep on dreaming!

2. ... because India has successfully developed the Kaveri engine and NO, India has NOT developed a turbofan engine capable of delivering 73 kN of thrust! That's the joke of the month! The Kaveri is a failure, all along what it was planned to be and for what it was developed! And in fact it is far from ready. It reached that level on bench-test, it is technically inferior to any European engine and as such, what should France get from that mutual technical transfer or joint development? Nothing!
