American man reveals Indian CEO took over a firm, booted out founders, hired Indians. Post goes viral amid H1B visa debate

You cannot stop companies from offshoring jobs because these companies don’t exclusively serve the US market. They operate globally, handling projects in places like Singapore, South Africa, and beyond. Capital is free to move across the world, and these companies will create jobs where it makes the most sense economically. Even if political or social pressure arises, they might rebrand their operations—for instance, spinning off an Indian division and calling it "ABM" instead of IBM.

The fact that India has succeeded in creating a robust market for its IT professionals while Pakistan or Bangladesh hasn’t speaks volumes about India's foresight and execution in this field. It’s not just about exporting IT talent; it’s about building an ecosystem—training, placement, and marketing—that has allowed India to dominate this space. Criticizing this success overlooks the structural differences that have allowed India to thrive while others lag behind.
No one denies this, it's mostly true

But whats your read on the backlash and reaction

Yep and you can see the Indians just talking about profit here.

They should ask themselves whether they would accept 10s of millions of say Blacks or East Asians coming into their country every year in order to boost their GDP?

Of course not as every country has a "tolerance threshold".

Hell no
They cant even accept their own muslim neighbors…

If the US can land a man on the moon it can find solutions to offshoring. Not buying the idea that US It sector will die without Indian workers. Its a peculiar idea.

Rest you just repeated what i wrote about indian IT sector. And NO im not criticising indian IT success, if you read my comment closely.

If india have succes in IT then its good for it. The problem is the indian sense of entitlement concerning offshoring jobs and access to H1-B visa. Especially knowing the US and western wages are stagnating and many millions of vacant professionals in the west could easily be trained to take those jobs.

It is ridiculous. Of course the American tech sector can survive without H1B Indian economic migrants.

The backlash is natural—people fear what they don’t fully understand or can’t control. The tech sector is a high-stakes game, and seeing jobs and opportunities shift creates insecurity, especially when it involves foreign workforce.

That said, most of this reaction is emotional rather than practical. Companies will always prioritize efficiency and profit. If Indian ecosystem delivers better results, backlash or not, the shift will continue.

And honestly, the real shift isn’t even about Indians taking up jobs in the US. It’s about the massive creation of millions of new jobs directly in India as companies expand operations here. That’s the long-term play, and it’s why this whole trend is a win-win for India.

There is a dependency there, it will feel like it anyway

You can't just reverse this over night

They will think of ways around it

Nothing will change without a fight

So that's the first step

In the blue corner team indi

In the red corner maga

The Indian "economic model" of churning out millions of graduates without being able to find them suitable employment is now dead.

India/Modi thought they could dump even more hundreds of thousands of Indians per year into the UK using the carrot of a FTA with Brexit Britain. Now the UK has wisely realised the folly of leaving the EU and getting close to it again and so has no need to give any visas for a FTA with India.

Something is fundamentally wrong with Indian education and economy if they cannot employ their own young population. Some emigration is normal and what you would expect but this is on another level entirely different.

If India was a much smaller country of say 100 million then they probably may have gotten away with this but India is too large to allow the Anglo-Saxon countries to absorb their 10s of millions of graduate that India itself cannot employ.

It's not emotional though, it's quite logical to feel annoyed at your perceived....perceived... loss of earning and opportunity

Telling someone they are just being emo in that context.... You will annoy people

Well good luck

The main winner's are stock investors, India, corporate execs

That's it I think

The main loser's are Americans, young grads, tech is an attractive area, no one wants it skewed to one group.

Well according to online indians, india is the best economy in the world with the best standard of living. Why do they need the white european and anglo-saxon world to absorb 10s of millions of indian graduates? Why do indians need to leave india when it is such a wonderful place?

It is getting from bad to worse. It looks like Trump will be forced to entirely remove the H1-B visa. MAGA isn't giving up.
Trump does not give a shit about MAGA subtards now he is in power. He just yesterday said that. LOL!

What are you even talking about? Around 1/3rd of Silicon Valley’s workforce is Indian, which amounts to just a few hundred thousand people. Meanwhile, India’s tech sector directly employs over 7 million people and supports millions more indirectly. The Indian tech sector is export-driven, and the global demand for tech talent is exactly where the money and jobs are.

Think of the Indians in the US as enablers, helping to channel business opportunities back to India. They’re not a drain—they’re a strategic advantage. This isn’t a trend that can be reversed; it’s a deeply integrated global ecosystem that works in India’s favor.

Interesting take! They can remove the diversity lottery (a good move) and they can lower or remove chain migration family visas which are useless for USA anyways. Further prioritize H1B by salary offered instead of a lottery, again a great solution.

Keep the over all visas same but remove all the useless ones.

To be honest it is just short term greed and Indian graduates being unwilling to work what they consider jobs that are beneath them.

West is no longer the land of milk and honey and only the very few make riches anymore. Most of these Indian graduates would just make enough to survive.
