Ancestry/DNA results of members

The migration hasn't always been north to south like you said it has gone both ways too. I was born in Tianjin i might add which is why my DNA is north. If i Ask my hokkien Singaporean friend to do it, she might have vastly different results with majority southern dna.

My history of DNA haplogroups is non existent haha so im brain dead when it comes to that.

Most Southern Chinese have different percentage of Northern Chinese DNA, and it depends on different regions.

The most northern DNA regions in Southern China should be central Anhui/Jiangsu where the northern Chinese DNA hovering around 70-80%, which is almost identical to most Northern Chinese.

The second most northern DNA in the south is Shanghai/Southern Jiangsu/Northern Zhejiang where the northern DNA hovering sightly lower at 60-70%, and I was surprised that one of my relatives got his actual result which is hovering into average Northern Chinese level.

The southern provinces like Sichuan and Hubei got lower Northern Chinese ancestry than Shanghai is also very surprising, since these regions all spoken the southern version of Mandarin, whereas the native dialect in Shanghai is not even Mandarin.

The lowest Northern Chinese ancestry should always be Guangdong and Hainan where most average people got it below 10%.

Hmm interesting. They were a tributary state for such a long time and when china got conquered by mongols Koreans said they were now true descendants of the dragon and have mandate of heaven.
They called Korea little China preserving Chinese cultures after Mongols invaded China.

Mostly in the Manchus era, since the Manchus have conquered the Ming Dynasty, and the Koreans kept looking down the Manchus as barbarians.

And they did believe that they were the only spiritual heir of the Ming Dynasty.

Are you sure they have only 10% of Northern genes ? That's really low. I read a report before, it said male population in Guangdong has 60% to 70% genes similarities with Northern males. And the female population has just below 50% similarities with Northern females. I don't know about Hainan, shouldn't be too different. lots of Northerners migrated to Southern provinces such as Guangdong and Fujian through out the dynasties.

Their Y-DNA is still highly similar to the Northern Chinese, but the mtDNA and autosomal DNA look very southern.

Also, there are 3 types of Cantonese: Cantonese Yue, Hakka, Teochew.

The Cantonese Yue got the lowest Northern Chinese ancestry according 23mofang with average people usually below 10%.

The Hakka got around 30-40%, and Teochew around 40-50% with some individuals hovering around 60-70% similar to average Shanghainese.

World population is highly mixed up DNA so how one can get real conclusive results, My father was Punjabi My mother was British and my grand mother originally from Harayna India so how can DNA test results came conclusive ?

You should do one just for the fun of it. It would be 100x more interesting than mine tbh

Seriously ask for test from Europe and one from Canada. You might a more realistic picture by comparing three results.
I find these DNA tests really more for white people. They can look at their dozen + different backgrounds like spanish, jewish, dutch, native american etc.

For us in East Asia I imagine they don't have as much info and basically tells you what you already know
