Mullahs should be kept out of Politics - it just isn't their domain. Any state controlled or influenced by them is essentially a failed state.

Anyone who challanges the mullah mentality or Ummah mentality is a "European wannabe." Anyone who challanges Europeanization is a mullah.

I remember at my former private school in Karachi the German class graduates were dressed as Germans and doing a German belle' dance.

A woman commenting on the news article wrote something like good for the children doing this otherwise they'd end up in maddrasah and turn into mullahs. Like seriously.

Incomes in Pakistan are much higher than in Afghanistan. So while we may be paying slightly more, Pakistanis have much greater affordability and disposable incomes than Afghans. The "diversified trade corridors" in Afghanistan is a nicer way of saying "smuggling". Despite the slight price advantage, more than 80% of the Afghan population lives impoverished.
Our women get to go to schools and work, we have a functioning government, local governments work, taxation works, Pakistani economy is integrated into the world economy, agricultural and industrial outputs are sizable, we are part of all the relevant regional power blocks etc. etc.

Not sure what more to make of the rest of the usual tirades against Pindi/GHQ and what not. Frankly, its comical to compare the two countries (this is not from a place of arrogance, rather reflecting the reality while hoping betterment for Afghans and Pakistanis alike) despite whatever political persuasion you may have.

For what it's worth, this is good news. Perhaps the tide is turning, and these Islamists are losing support after years of ascendancy. Perhaps people are too busy trying to survive to worry about blasphemy or whatever Islamists are trying to sell.
