Man we need to start inducting AI drones and move away from manned aviation gradually as a program.

These things crashing are like harmless toys which can’t pull a hair off of the enemy.

This just pointless waste of life money and resources.

I’d be very surprised if a decade or so later any western country would be flying combat aircraft or trainers looking at the current conflicts.

Its a Mushak of PAK Army.

PAK Army's training aircraft crashes in Vehari: Both pilots eject safely

Mods can move it to the PAK Army thread as this crash has noting to do with the PAF.

@Waz @Musings @arslank01
thats very interesting. I wonder whether its always been SOP for PA pilots to wear parachutes in these aircraft, because the PAF would not... Not even during aerobatics?

Its not very common to be wearing chutes in SEP's, they havent designed the seats with chutes in mind either. The only time i ever had to do that was in the Extra 300 and that too was because we were doing formation aerobatics, so i could bail if we had a mid air. Sounds like the confidence in the SMK is dropping

So you think, adding additional safety measures boils down to lack of confidence.
When the first F-6s arrived from China, the ejection seats carried a warning in Chinese " Not guaranteed below 300 MPH " or something, the PAF Pilots still flew on them until replaced by Martin Baker seats .

Actually it seems that a twin seat Mirage crashed with both pilots ejected successfully.

yes, because, after spending literally hundreds of hours in pistons like the mushak during my training, and even to this day, i still get back into pistons, i can assure, you, no pilot, no matter how much more safe it is, would willingly strap on a chute and get in one. There is literally no scenario, other than perhaps an irrecoverable spin or a midair, that i would consider bailing out from, otherwise, everything else, i can glide to safety or mitigate.

Okay, so there were 02 incidents today.

1. A PAK Army Mushak (reported earlier by 24 News).
2. A PAF Mirage.

I've seen the footage of the Mirage & both Pilots are safe. There were assisted by the Locals.

Puri khidmat ki.

who cares, everyones alive, the world carries on spinning...
Yes and no. There is obviously nothing bigger than life but an emergency ejection is pretty hard on your body. It cuts careers short or forces people to take up different roles, other than a flying officer.

On the 15th April 2025, a Dassault Mirage V ROSE crashed in Ratta Tibba, Pakistan, after a reported technical malfunction.

Both pilots successfully ejected using the Martin-Baker PRM4 seat.
