Balochistan Terrorism Watch

EDITORIAL: And the endless cycle of violence continues. The brutal killing on Tuesday night of seven Punjab-bound passengers in Barkhan district marks yet another tragic episode in Balochistan’s troubled history. That armed men could stop multiple vehicles on a major highway, methodically check identity cards, and kill innocent travellers speaks volumes about the state of security in Pakistan’s largest province.

More troubling still is the fact that this has become a disturbing pattern that has claimed dozens of lives in recent months. Last August, 23 travellers were pulled from vehicles and shot in Musakhail. In May, seven barbers from Punjab were killed near Gwadar. April saw separate attacks in Noshki and Kech. Each incident follows the same horrifying script — armed men targeting civilians based on their provincial identity.

Fortunate incident last night in Balochistan when in Kechi Baig, Sikandarabad, Quetta, a suicide bomber blew himself up prematurely before reaching his target and the only person that died in the blast was the terrorist attacker himself.

Balochistan: The Baloch Raaji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) has announced that following a 3-day “high-level meeting,” in which delegations from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA), and Sindhi Liberation Organization (SRO) participated, some “important decisions” were made. BRAS further says that the umbrella organization of various Baloch separatist groups will “take the form of the Baloch National Army & new committees & departments will be reconstituted at a high level to bring activists & leadership of various organisations under a unified military structure.”

The statement released by the BRAS states that “a coordinated & systematic plan of action” was drawn up to further intensify the war against the “Chinese capitalists.”BRAS has also planned to “launch a diplomatic campaign” at international forums “to highlight the Baloch national issue.”

Dawn.com
March 3, 2025

A Frontier Corps (FC) personnel was martyred on Monday in a suicide attack on a convoy in Balochistan’s Kalat district, according to a statement from the interior ministry.

The attack occurred on the national highway near the Mughalzai area of Kalat, according to a post from the ministry on X.

“One soldier of the FC was killed and four others injured in the suicide attack conducted by a female suicide bomber,” said Kalat Deputy Commissioner Bilal Shabbir. No group immediately took responsibility for the attack.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid homage to the slain personnel, Attaullah. He extended his sympathy and condolences to the family of the deceased.

A statement posted on the ministry’s X account said Naqvi ordered that the best medical treatment be provided to what it said were four injured FC personnel in the attack.

“We appreciate the FC’s eternal sacrifices for the establishment of peace in Balochistan. We salute the indelible sacrifices of FC,” the statement quoted him as saying.

Last week, eight people, including six security personnel, were injured in a bomb attack on a truck convoy guarding the copper project in the district’s Mangochar area.

According to officials, a convoy of 29 trucks, transporting blaster copper from the Saindak project to Karachi, was targeted on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in Mangochar.

Unknown armed men planted an improvised explosive device in front of the Nadra office on the main highway, and when the convoy, guarded by personnel from the FC, reached the site, a powerful explosion occurred, hitting a security vehicle.

A heavy exchange of gunfire ensued and continued for some time. As a result of the blast, eight security personnel and a truck driver were injured.

On February 16, a levies personnel was martyred while two others were injured as a result of an attack on a checkpost in the district.

February saw a marginal increase in terrorist attacks but a sharp surge in civilian casualties, according to a report published by the Islamabad-based think tank, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).

The report tallying terrorist attacks across Pakistan in February was published after a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy in North Waziristan on Sunday, martyring two soldiers and injuring 10 others.

According to PICSS, the country witnessed 79 terrorist attacks last month, resulting in the deaths of 55 civilians and 47 security personnel, while 45 civilians and 81 security personnel were injured. Security forces, meanwhile, intensified counter-terrorism operations, eliminating 156 terrorists, injuring 20, and arresting 66, it said.

According to PICSS, Balochistan remained the most volatile province, recording 32 attacks that claimed 56 lives, including 35 civilians, 10 security personnel, and 11 militants.

The attacks also left 44 people injured, including 32 security forces personnel and 12 civilians. Terrorists also abducted two individuals during the month, the report said.

The Bashir Zeb and Azad factions of the Balochistan Liberation Army, the Balochistan Liberation Front and the United Baloch Army claimed responsibility for most of these attacks. Security forces, in response, killed 11 terrorists in Balochistan, per the report.

A soldier was martyred and three others were injured in a suicide terrorist attack in Kalat, Balochistan today.

This tragic incident, in which a female suicide bomber attacked a military convoy, has once again exposed the evil strategy of the terrorist group BLA of using women as weapons of war. Using women in suicide attacks is not just a "weapon", but an attempt to trample on human values, hurt the psyche of society, and give a new dimension to terrorism.

This group, for its heinous purposes, emotionally weakens women and puts them to death, which is contrary not only to Islam but to all human standards.

This video gives an interesting perspective on the Makran coast, and the security concerns.

Blast in Khuzdar claims three lives, leaves seven injured

Explosion near college in Khuzdar's Nall area kills 3, bodies and injured sent to hospital for treatment.

News Desk
March 05, 2025

At least three people were killed and seven others injured on Wednesday following an explosion in Khuzdar's Nall area, officials said.

According to Express News, the blast occurred near a college in the Nall area of Khuzdar as authorities have confirmed the fatalities and casualties.

The police stated that three people were killed and seven others were injured in the blast. The bodies and the wounded have been transferred to Nall Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently working to determine the nature of the explosion.

The blast occurred a day after security forces successfully foiled an attack by Fitna al-Khawarij on Bannu Cantonment, killing all 16 terrorists involved. In the clash, five soldiers embraced martyrdom, while 13 innocent civilians lost their lives and 32 others were injured.

ISPR reported that five brave soldiers attained martyrdom in the confrontation, and the terrorists, in their desperation, rammed two explosive-laden vehicles into the cantonment walls. The suicide bombings caused a portion of the cantonment wall to collapse.

ISPR also called on the Afghan interim government to prevent its territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan, asserting that Pakistan reserves the right to take necessary actions against threats originating from across its borders.

KHUZDAR: At least five people were burnt to death and 10 others sustained serious injuries in an explosion in Naal town’s main bazaar in Khuzdar district on Wednesday.

According to police, the blast targeted the vehicle of pro-government tribal elder Abdul Samad Samalani. The explosive device, planted in the bazaar, was detonated remotely as his vehicle passed through the area.

While Mr Samalani survived with injuries, three of his companions were burnt to death on the spot as the vehicle caught fire following the explosion, whereas two later died of wounds.

Officials said the blast occurred near a welding shop in the busy marketplace. Police and security forces rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area and shifting the bodies and injured to Khuzdar District Hospital.

“A total of five people travelling in the vehicle were burnt alive as the fire spread rapidly. Tragically, there were no fire brigade services or rescue workers available in the municipal committee of Naal,” said a senior police officer from Bahawal Khan Police Station.

Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Yasir Dashti confirmed that two critically injured victims succumbed to their wounds in the hospital, while three died on the spot in the vehicle fire.

Law enforcement agencies have collected evidence from the blast site. “We are investigating the nature of the explosion,” said a senior police official. However, another officer suggested that the explosion was likely caused by a bomb, intended to assassinate Abdul Samad Samalani, who is now under medical treatment.

Four of the five deceased have been identified as Munir Ahmed Samalani, Abdullah Sarmastani, Nadir Khan Garganari and Masood Ahmed.

The injured include Salal, Irfan, Abdul Samad Samalani, Arsalan, Muhammad Ashraf, Meharullah, Abdul Razzak Qambrani, Saadullah, Walid and Muhammad Ramzan.

Security forces are conducting further investigations, and no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Armed men set fire to Levies, police stations in Khuzdar

Saleem Shahid
March 9, 2025

QUETTA: Armed men attacked the Levies and police stations in Ornach area of Khuzdar and set fire to the record and buildings, while in another attack they burnt the machinery of a dam in the Zehri area on Saturday night.

Officials said that a group of around 100 armed men cordoned off the main bazaar in Ornach to take control of police and Levies stations. They made police officials hostage and snatched their weapons.

“Armed men snatched all weapons and other equipment from the police and after ransacking the record, they set the police station on fire,” Yasir Iqbal Dashti, Khuzdar deputy commissioner, said. He said the assailants also tried to take over the Levies station. Their attempts to snatch weapons from the levies officials failed after the latter offered resistance.

In another attack, assailants burn down dam machinery

However, the armed men set a levies patrol vehicle on fire before taking away a police vehicle and 13 automatic guns and ammunition. Sources said that armed men remained in the area for an hour and later disappeared in the mountains.

In another attack, a group of armed men attacked a dam site in Zehri. Official sources said that the attackers burnt all machinery at the Sohndah dam. They also held the watchmen hostage before setting the machinery of the dam on fire.

“All equipment and machinery were completely burnt in the fire. The armed men, after achieving their target, fled the area,” said officials. A heavy contingent of security forces later reached the area and launched a search operation to trace the elements involved in the attacks on levies and police.

Also arrest any BLA apologists students in the universities just like how US arrests Palestianian supporters. There are red lines.

If you want to do politics then form a party instead of backing violent militants.
