Bangladesh Air Force

KF21 should be our choice. It has certain degree of LO characteristics. Giving it an advantage over other 4.5 gen fighters. Also, it is cost effective compared to twin engine Eurocanards.
Good suggestion there!
Last but not the least, air force still pursuing attack helicopters is a trash idea. Shows continuous lack of integration between army and BAF. (Which pain me the most.) Also, MRSAM? I hope it's only for base defense. We need long range high altitude BMB capable system. This is a must.
At the time of drone warfare investing in maned attack helios sounds counterproductive.

They should invest completely, heart & soul in developing UAV/ UCAV.

Any news on Hisar O acquisition? Last year it was quiet a talk of the town.

Apperantly, army is ought to receive them in 2025.

Guys good news about airforce….

1. One of our largest airbase is going to be activated by 2028, it will be divided into 3 sections… one for the regular Air Force operations, one for airfare cadet training and one for civilian use… each section will still be “ 650-700 acres in size and its location is in lalmonirhat. This will give us a scramble time of 3 mins to choke chickens neck vs 7 minutes from the nearest Indian airbase.

2. Air chief recently went to Zhuhai air show and stayed there for a long time. He also announced aircraft acquisition on emergency basis and mentioned 5th gen aircraft with secondary choice of 4.5 gen aircraft. He also mentioned that the MiG 29s are 25 years old and due for replacement. If we look at Zhuhai airshow news we know that Pakistan signed 36 billion dollars worth of jf17 sales… and Russia got su 57 order from unknown customer. We also know that j35 is being sold to Pakistan and was shown for sale at the airshow. If we are to take chiefs words about the emergency procurement of fighter aircraft… expect anything from jf-17/j-10c to su 57/ j35. Either ways better than buying some EFT garage queens

3. Government is allocating emergency funds for military acquisitions in light of recent Indian agression and threats. We are going to get some new weaponry for deterrence although what exactly hasn’t been announced yet.

Maybe, just maybe things will start to move forward. Even if it is slowly. I think IG has realize the vulnerability of BD's force posture. Looks like narional security stablishment (given now they are acting freely and not beholden) is more concern with Myanmar in short to medium term. They want to gain qualitative edge in case military posturing becomes neccessary when the fighting settles in Myanmar.

Not just against Myanmar. Yunus is pushing ahead with the US Japan alliance to settle the junta business. But in light of recent events involving India the armed forces is moving ahead with emergency acquisition plans for deterrence against India too.

It will be well within tube and Rocket artillery range of Indian army (which they have plenty of) and flattened within minutes.

Apparently from that direction there’s a lake that takes the base out of artillery range. India has sent a formal protest but bd isn’t paying attention to it.

Even in an alternate universe, BD ain't buying SU57. Russia's SU57 customer is Algeria. This option is permanently out if we want to remain on good term with the West. You are
too optimistic bro. Air chief didn't exactly said anything about emergency procurement. He said, they are now focusing on MRCA (given mig29 came 25 years ago. And there hasn't been any progress since) Which is set to be twin engine platform from the beginning. Unless that tender is cancelled and a new one is launched it will remain so with previous specs set. So, no J17 or J10.

J35 will be a shock. But I will take it.

Yes, Russia is too risky because of CAATSA.

And because of the nonsensical twin engine requirement, J 10 an JF 17 is out, unless they reevaluate that requirement in light of long range drones being available for maritime patrol.

Bro what? Tube artillery has a rangee of 40km and Rocket artillery has 70km range. The base will be flatten in event of any conflict with India. However it will be very useful against Myanmar. As it is fathest from it and outside its ballistic missiles reach.

Do we know how far inland the base is going to be? We have to keep a constant eye on Indian troop movement to detect any preemptive strike ever. Given the distance, there won't be much time to relocate fighters in the event of an undetected preemptive strike.

Also hearing that China is going to provide tech support to build the base?

Bro, I am trying to tell you guys why these are not good choices. With the RCS signeture these jets has, Just by deploying an S400 battery in West Bengal or in Tripura India can shoot them down over Dhaka and impose a no fly zone. We Need something low observable if deterring India is sought. That's why I am advocating for KF21, KE or even J35A. If Myanmar is the concern then, yeah. J10c can do good.

Good point, but can we afford 5th Gen under current economic situation? At least in large volume that will actually create meaningful deterrent, and not just token like the 8 Migs we have now.

Original BAF budget estimate for MRCA was $2.9 billions for 16x aircrafts/1x squadron. (Twin engine euro-canards) So, both KF21 and J35 can be done. However, these procurement takes 5/6 years after signing the contract. The procurement cost is spread over a period. Of course it will be done under LoC. So, current economic situation is not that big of an issue if government ready to commit.

One issue I can foresee is whether South Korea will be willing to allow KF 21 with an air force friendly to China. Indonesia probably won't have any issue, since they don't have an active claim on the South China sea territorial dispute and recently they signed a 10 billion dollar business deal with China.
