Outstanding Achievement of Bangladeshi Peacekeepers in the Central African Republic
Dhaka, 30 June 2026 (Tuesday): The Honourable President of the Central African Republic, through a Presidential Decree issued on 10 June 2026, has announced prestigious national honours for four Bangladeshi Army peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
The honoured personnel are Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Reza, SGP, ndc, afwc, psc, M Phil, Sector East Commander and Senior National Representative of Bangladesh Army at MINUSCA; Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Hasibul Hasan, psc, Contingent Commander of Bangladesh Special Force Company (BANSFC)-10; Major Imrul Hasan Oyon, psc, Military Assistant to the Sector East Commander and Captain Md Shakwat Hossain Sarker, Interpreter of BANSFC-10.
They have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to peace and security during the election of the 7th Republic, as well as for strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Bangladesh and the Central African Republic. In particular, BANSFC-10 played a vital role in securing the Autorité Nationale des Élections (ANE) office and supporting Central African Armed Forces (FACA) in the remote and sensitive area of Zangba during the election.
Besides, BANSFC-10 and its Contingent Commander have also been awarded Certificates of Commendation by the Chief of Army Staff of FACA for their exceptional professionalism and performance during the National Elections 2025/2026.
These recognitions reflect the professionalism and excellence of Bangladeshi peacekeepers.
