This is for you, @Joe Shearer and Pak brothers…
I can see where you are coming from with regards to providing conventional deterrence against India.
Big hole in your strategy is geography and nuclear bombs.
India will never escalate given the cost due to geography and triggering a nuclear response.
India will have no reservations against BD.
It will be like how Israel deals with Iran (Pakistan) and Palestine (Bangladesh).
Given the population density of Bangladesh even minor skirmishes endangers millions of people.
Furthermore, financial cost of a conventional force deterrence against such a large country with big defence budget - is extremely prohibitive.
It means Bangladesh making the sort of strategic pivot that Pakistan made in the 1960s. Including ceding land to China and agreeing to become a buffer for USA.
This kind of budgetary and geopolitical choices will turn Bangladesh into a military state.
No civilian government can sustain that level of defence spending.
Spending commitment will have to be even higher for BD given where it is in terms of defence infra.
And BD’s economic partners in the west also do not have an appetite for such a build up.
Bangladesh’s population and geography is perfect for guerrilla warfare - given the large border - India will find it almost impossible. Hence it is a mighty deterrence.

Not even the ultra hawks think India will invade BD. Least of all me.
The danger is that your Sanghis will overreach - our hot heads will overreact.
Bangladeshi people also need to feel psychologically secure from mighty India spewing hate 24/7.
Therefore a deterrence is required to keep the two bunch of imbeciles at bay.
I just think a conventional deterrence is not feasible.

Best thing about BD is that it is one of the few homogeneous countries.
Countries like U.K. would kill to have that.
Absorbing troublesome tribes into BD is a stupid idea.
Our population will stabilise and then fall.
And most Bangladeshis don’t care about “strategic depth”.
We are a humble people.

Yes! BD should forge a military alliance with secular Turkey - but should not get into bed with them.
Am always wary of Pakistan given its military establishment. People are alright, though.

If it’s just about being able to deliver large numbers…then why not J10?
FA50 is a nice aircraft but it relies too much on other countries in terms of its power plant, munitions, and a few other components.
…this could cause potential complications down the road if any relations sour…or India decides to lobby hard and throw money at US politicians to stop the supply(and parts for maintenance) for critical parts/munitions.
JF17, J10 have a ton of different munitions already integrated for practically all roles(A2A, A2G, antiship, standoff weapons). The above would apply here as well…as in if relations with China go south…problems can occur with supply and maintenance…but it is one nation to please vs multiple…and basically any interference by India…can be ruled out in case of China as a supplier.
IMO…if BD has lots of money…then J10 is ideal to make numbers. If we r being realistic(bcuz even that tons of money…would thin out when we consider how much all of BD’s armed forces need to catch up in almost every aspect) then JF17 would be a cheaper option to have numbers…with a decent capability all around.

How Myanmar would annex us when it can't even control half of its own territory? That country is effectively fractured. Not to mention their population is 1/3 of ours with no cohesion among themselves.

Take a look at Singapore…or in some aspects Taiwan…and their military build up. They are heavily focused on A2AD. BD can too…
Guerilla warfare would come in to play…when and IF India has already invaded and captured either all of vast swathes of BD’s land.
…building conventional war fighting capability is a step before that. If it’s robust enough(ur enemy would assess before invading…and they are not fools) that it will end up being a Pyrrhic victory…
…they will not invade in the first place.
BD forgets to count its advantages…only looking at its disadvantages(like India being larger in economy, resources, population, size surrounding on all sides)…u must take into account that India has two other fronts to worry about and must maintain enough war fighting capability/capacity…to even fight them(China/Pak) together if need be(even if it doesn’t happen…they have to prepare for that scenario and keep prepared at all times). This means lesser war fighting capability allocated for BD…with that…if it is determined that starting a war with BD would be too costly exposing other fronts…
…India would then choose not to start a war with BD in the first place…instead resorting to some aggressive posturing at best…or rhetoric and dialogue.
…this is what BD should aim for.

3) India can effectively Blockade all of BD within one hour, both from the air by simply stationing a S-400 unit nearby and at Sea with it's Eastern Command.
4) see how long BD economy survives with it's only access to the outside world being a donkey trail form the Myanamar Jungle....

What is a debate?
This is also true for Pakistan. India can impose a naval blockade on Pakistan and crash its economy.
S400 can also impose no fly zone on most of Pakistan.
I don't see Pakistan launching nukes in response to conventional blockade. Remember, so far it hasn't won a single war with India. That doesn't stop it from modernising it's armed forces.
