Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024

Bangladesh's own army let her leave the country; the army chief even said in an interview that it was better to let her go rather than stopping her. They even helped her get out, and now Bangladesh wants India to hand her over for mob justice, risking India's global reputation in the process. Why this circus?

The Bangladesh Army Chief now claims that he had no knowledge of her prior departure but that is irrelevant. The point is by sending her back to Bangladesh will in fact enhance India's standing in the world and restore its credibility as a supporter of democracy and human rights and opposed to autocracy in the South Asia region ...

Yea right, the west refuses to extradite criminals to India citing our jails, practises etc not up to mark.. imagine forcefully sending a former PM of a country back to BD where former leaders, supporters and officials are being lynched and killed...

Just wondering how much of a low life do you have to be to give a love react to a bunch of bloodied corpses being piled up.

And then these guys cry about terror attacks in India. Pathetic.
You are right, ppl who make distasteful comments deserve terrorist attacks and mob lynching

.
Just imagine what we could have archived if we had this Yunus Administration type corruption free government for a decade.
.
BTW, Mr Yunus must bring more members in his administration to accelerate our reformation process. And Awami league should be treated like Nazi party...

BD where former leaders, supporters and officials are being lynched and killed...
Where is this supporters & officials "being" lynched & killed?

**October 26, 2021, the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad sent this message to the Director (External) in Dhaka.**

The main subject of the message, signed by Counselor Md. Shahidul Islam, was that the Indian intelligence agency 'RAW' had installed a mobile tracking machine inside the Indian Embassy in Dhaka. The purpose of this installation was to track the mobile phones of important individuals in Bangladesh. The message also suggested investigating the matter with the assistance of BTRC (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission).

However, what actions were actually taken after this? The authenticity of this letter has been verified, but how can one country conduct such activities inside another sovereign state? The responsible officer from the Indian Embassy should be promptly summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to demand an explanation for this incident.

Is this punk really arrested. Police authority did not confirm his arrest yet. I hope he did not fled the country.

Rumor is that he is custody. Other sources say that he is trying to flee the country, most possibly his true homeland if you know what I mean ;)

They are depraved creatures. Though, they weren't like this back in the older days.

You are right, ppl who make distasteful comments deserve terrorist attacks and mob lynching

Please seek help. You will need it.

Thanks to Jon Danilowicz of Right to Freedom project for moderating the discussion below. Very interesting discussion.

How come the embassy in a third country share such info tho? Passing Intel received? Don't the spy agencies have their own information sharing mechanisms which are more direct and prompt?

The Chief Advisor's secretary Mahfuz Abdullah talks about rewriting the constitution of Bangladesh to ensure concrete and permanent social and political reform.

The video is in Bengali, I will post the translated details later.

To note - Mahfuz Abdullah was the mastermind behind the student protest. He didn't come to limelight unlike the other student leaders, but he was working behind the scenes to strategize every move of the protest. Intelligence agencies had been hunting him throughout the movement, but fortunately he evaded them. A very bright young man and a graduate of the Dhaka University Law dept. He has now become the right hand of the Chief Advisor and is expected to drive the necessary social and political reforms in Bangladesh.

How old is this person?

So we will now have those in their 20s making the reforms to the political and administrative system in BD?

While students should have a say like all other sections of society in how BD should be run, they must be kept well away from the decision making and implementation process.

They lack both knowledge and experience.

This appears legit. They did something similar in Afghanistan. See that little chip in our smart NID's? Our drivers licenses? These were all issued in India meaning that they have all our data. Information security standards are sketchy. And applying for a mobile SIM requires us to show NID card and number. This is how they do it.

This is so even though we are more than capable of making these cards on our own. But why India? The answer is right here.

Simply summoning the Indian commissioner is not going to solve this problem. We need to get our data back into our own hands and our control. Strict information security standards must be incorporated in our country to protect our citizens.

No, they won't be making unitary decisions. They will be participating in the group of advisors to make decision together, which consists of experienced decision makers and technocrats.

As far as knowledge is concerned, they have more academic and practical qualifications than some of the BAL ministers we have seen. What's the qualification of the likes of Obaidul Qader? They were in key decision making positions. I haven't seen anyone question their qualifications despite the lack of it.

We have to move beyond the idea of associating age with knowledge and qualifications. Experience yes definitely needed, which is why these students are not making the decisions alone, they have experienced people guiding them.
